Heh did you manage to break the plastic cap that's supposed to serve the same purpose already?

The terms 'tailgate spolier' made me think back to a Dodge Ram Bumble Bee with a massive spoiler mounted to the bed and I was like NOOOOOOOOO.

Dirtyhat, I ordered a Silverado tailgate cap,bought it for $28 delivered. Took off the factory tailgate cap but the Silverado cap is shaped so differently I couldn't get it to work.It'll take cutting away the 2 center screw-mounts to make it work,then the mounting integrity is gone.I'm still looking around for something that offers a little paint protection for opening and closing the tailgate.The factory cap is really sorry. Found a roll of Molding thats 2.5" wide that might look alright.JC Whitney and our local Pepboys Auto shops carry it. 20' roll for $50.

Thanks for the response. I actually have a folding bed cover from my 06 GMC Sierra (piece of crap truck) and the cover fits perfectly except for the tailgate. It is about 1 1/2" too long. If I could find a tailgate spoiler similar to that of the silverado I think I could make it work. Otherwise, i will be selling this one and spending money on a new folding cover.

^^Negative..If anything I would do the first one I posted that most everyone hates on the forums as we have had this discussion before on spoilers! LOL More the reason to do it! But I have a bed cover so not sure how that would match up, or look. Could always fiberglass it in though.

 

Yeah I like the first one too. Thats the one I would have gone with if I had a 2wd..

no spoilers on the truck..waste of money..the closest I'll do is Gaylords Tonneau Covers with spoilers...

 

The Silverado Tailgate cap in Devilrey's post is exactly what I'm after.It'll never look like that on a Tundra though.I've already tried to get one to fit my 2010.

Fast forward to today... buddy has a Ram SRT10... we tried to load a box... I said ok yeah just pull the quick release for the spoiler. Then we came to the realization that it wasn't quick release at all. Good thing I always have a socket set with me.
