i have a DC with the non-JBL system with Nav, etc. No subwoofer. I am assuming that there is still a factory amp under the passenger seat? It would be replaced by the kit amp? Anyway, I can do all of the install stuff, but the older I get the less fun it is so if you don't charge too much I could drive over to MS early one day, you could install and I could drive back with improved tunes.

Sounds good. Yeah there is an amp under the seat that would be replaced by the OEM. I don't like to do everything I used to either. Believe it or not I had a bad battery in a Jet Ski the other day and for a few minutes I actually considered letting the shop replace it for $45 Labor, ha. Sorry so late replying, I got hung up in a meeting. I've got to look at my calendar but I think that I might be coming to Birmingham in a couple of weeks. If I am I will bring a truck with a comparable set up for you guys to check out.

I just noticed that the JBL Enhancement is available in a dual subwoofer configuration? Hey @oemaudioplus, what all comes in that kit for the additional $399? A larger amp, I'm hoping...

Thanks,

Dave

#112 ·
I think that the dual subs are only available on the Tacoma right now but I will check with OEM tomorrow

#113 ·
There's definitely a check box on the Tundra JBL Enhancement order page that says "Dual Subwoofer System", so it's either a mistake on their order page or it's available for the Tundra as well. Other than that and the extra $399 price tag, there's no other information about that option.

Thanks for bringing this feedback to our attention @restosud. Unfortunately with demo opportunities outside of Anaheim California (where we are based) or an event we attend (select locations nationwide), all demos are provided by our network of owners who have volunteered to accommodate these types of requests. This is not something we solicit or ask of our owners, but we have several owners who have volunteered and insist.

That being said, based on a previous thread you mentioned being based in Louisiana (if we are not mistaken). We have an active owner in the New Orleans area that we could set you up wit. Not the same vehicle, but an accurate representation of what you can expect in terms of our signature sound. Please email or PM us directly to coordinate (experience@oemaudioplus.com

I seriously considered an OEM system, but the lack of response to emails turned me off to them.
We value you sharing this with us. We strive to provide response to any messages or phone calls within 48 hours, but admit at times we fall short. Our team apologizes for any inconvenience.

If you are willing, please send us a PM with your email, so we can investigate on our end and see what happened. We understand we lost the opportunity to serve you directly, but we would respect the opportunity to determine where we dropped the ball in communication. Thanks in advance for making us better!

It is our hope that this message finds you enjoying the audio setup you ended up going with. From one music enthusiast to the next.

I seriously considered an OEM system, but the lack of response to emails turned me off to them.
I ended up with an after market HU, a 5 channel Alpine amp, replacing my door speakers with Focals, and JL Audio Stealthbox.

It is an asswhippin' to try to make the Entune sound decent.
I invested several hundred dollars (Audio Control Lc7i and an JBL MS-8) before giving up and buying an aftermaket HU.

I don't have time to explain it all in a PM.

I sent you 2 messages thru your 'contact us' link on your web page.
I only needed certain parts of your packages and had questions about using and purchasing these parts.
I already replaced my door speakers and had questions if your system would work with them.
I also had questions of installing a sub on a plastic storage enclosure of the DC.
I never got a response, I even looked thru my junk folders.
It is pretty much the same experience I had with Tacotunes.

I'm sure you make a great product.
If I would have found you in 2015 before trying the Alpine amp, AC Lc7i and the JBL MS-8, I probably would have purchased your system been happy with the results.
There are things I miss about the Entune; stock look, weather, ease of use.
As well I was only looking for a better sound, I didn't need a competition setup.

I'm only replying my experience.
I'm in no means trashing your product.

I feel I need to add my positive customer experience with OEM Audio Plus.
They gave quick response to questions prior to purchase including phone conversations. They represented their product fairly.
Delivery was later than told, and I had to call to find out that they were actually upgrading my order to include the separate amp and control for the sub (which was so worth it)!
The outstanding support after arrival of the package and support to work through some install issue was fantastic! They responded very quickly, often immediately, sometimes after hours. When they said we need to check with some technical people, they did and got back to me quickly.
Once installed the system has been flawless.
I live in Greensboro NC, non jbl system, if someone wants to hear this incredible system in person.

So what's with the two logins -- first oemaudioplus and now oemaudioplus_? Which is the real vendor?

Whoever the real vendor is, can they answer the question posed in the first post in 8 months in this thread -- the question that generated all of this recent activity in the first place?

------>>> I noticed the $399 dual subwoofer option for the JBL Enhancement package for the Tundra. What all comes in that kit? <<<-----

Thanks,

Dave

I noticed the $399 dual subwoofer option for the JBL Enhancement package for the Tundra. What all comes in that kit?
Thanks for resurfacing this question Dave (we realize it was in plain sight, but unfortunately we missed it). Please excuse the DELAYED response. We have been missing notifications when tagged (and thus the secondary login). We're working with VerticalScope to address.

The JBL Enhancement includes the following:

  • Tundra-Specific Subwoofer System
  • O+ Dedicated Subwoofer Amplifier: Pre-calibrated specifically for the acoustics of your Tundra
  • Quick-Sync Wiring Harness
  • Front 1" Soft Dome Tweeter
  • Rear 1" Soft Dome Tweeter
  • Acoustic Correction Filters
  • Subwoofer Gain Control Knob (for precision adjustability of Sub output).

The Dual Subwoofer Option builds off the JUP foundation with adding the following:
  • Passenger Side Tundra-Specific Subwoofer System
  • Dual Subwoofer Amplifier Calibration
  • Secondary mounting bracket

With the dual subwoofer system you can expect is a very dynamic, controlled sound with plenty of low frequency extension. Using two subs solves an inherent acoustic problem in a car which is uneven bass response caused by what is called a "comb-filtering effect” (in short, cancellation or uneven bass response). Though we are able to correct this using one sub through judicious acoustic tuning, dual's have this distinct advantage of better coverage and therefore is more effective in minimizing this issue.

We guarantee you our standard system deliver our signature sound. Duals are reserved for the listener who’s demands detail, dynamics and an overall more impactful listening experience. If you opt to go with the Single Sub option, you can always upgrade to the Dual seamlessly down the line.

Below is the picture of our Passenger (and Driver) side Subwoofer System for the Tundra Crewmax. Subwoofer and bracket install using existing factory mounting locations behind the rear bench without ANY loss of usable space and/or functionality.

Keep the questions coming! It is of the utmost importance to us that you are able to make an informed decision and that the end results exceed your expectations.

I don't know about the login question, I am not OEM but I have their system in my Tundra and have done installs for others who were not do-it yourselfers. I never login here or anywhere else unless I am looking for info or the answer to a question. I actually got an email with this response in it from Tundratalk so I replied. The dual subs are now available for both the JBL and non JBL upgrades in Tacoma Double Cab and Tundra CrewMax. They have just been filling pre orders so far and sending to people who already had their system and just wanted to add it. Thank you for making me aware of it and getting me to check in to it. I am going to order it for both my Tundras tomorrow. ( Added a 2008 Crewmax 4x4 Limited to my Toyota collection that I am Lifting, adding Chrome rims, 35's, and chrome running boards and OEM stereo enhancement for JBL to give to my son for his 16th birthday October 10th) The non-JBL OEM Audio system that I have in my 2016 ROCKS. It was the best and easiest upgrade I could find for anywhere near the money. They always answer or call me back. Anyone is welcome to come listen to mine while we ride around and see if we can get stuck somewhere in central Mississippi !!

Here's a question for you. I am a Premium Lifetime Member but it says "Junior Member" by my name. Why is that and how can it be changed? (Obviously I am not a techy)

#126 ·
I have to say with the recent negative comments due to communication I emailed them direct and I got a response the next day. I understand its hard to keep track of all media outlets as I do the same for work so emailing their direct email is best. I just wanted more watts so I didn't have to turn my volume up to 45 to hear anything with my windows down and it seems I just need to upgrade my factory amp. might as well do the speakers in the doors while I am at it.

I did not replace my head unit. I went with the OEM Audio set up and it sounds great plus I don't have to crank it to hear it. ( I do crank it sometimes though!! )

No problem. I have a JBL in the older Tundra but the one that I am talking about that I added the OEM to is a 2016 Limited that just had the base factory radio. Etune I think it is called.

I just purchased the 500Q for '18 Dbl Cab SR5. The installation was pretty easy. Only problem was learning how panels come off. The system is plug and play except for one minor part. The tweeters involve swapping out pins from the old harness (short pigtail attached to speaker). It should be an easy process but I was unable to get the pins out. The rep, Daniel, had me send them in and they swapped them out for me. I offered to pay return shipping since I was a little inept but have not been charged yet. I am waiting for their return today. I can tell you that the sound is better with this system even with the missing tweeters. Their customer service is really good and I messaged Daniel on a Sunday and he got back to me (felt really bad about that.) I'm sure there are cheaper ways to go, but I'm very happy so far. I'll let you know how they sound when the tweeters are in.

Glad you are pleased. Me and a buddy drove back from Memphis in mine last night and basically had an Old Southern Rock concert in my truck. Let me know if you need anything.

Anyone in Oregon or Washington with this set up? Im curious to see how it compares to my Tacoma with Morel Tempo Ultras and a 12" Fosgate.

Has anyone listened to the OEM Audio set up that has also listened to a tuned mid-range set up, like my Morels or Focal or Audio Frog?

Really just curious if the quality is good enough, or is the real selling point just the ease of install.

does anyone on Long Island have any OEM+ system installed?

Any more recent reviews on the OEMaudioplus upgrades... this thread is a little old, but I'm finally tired enough of my jbl sound to change it. But WHOAH! The price has jumped. Some posts report $1200 -$1600 upgrade now costs $5k! I could replace the HU, all speakers, amps & add subs and still have $$ left for other upgrades.....
