1k mile review of the Cooper STT Pro - I really should start a new thread but figured I'd just put it here for now.
MPG - Seems I've lost 2 mpg local and 3 mpg hgwy due to the wider tire size.
Road Noise - The road noise isn't bad and doesn't bother me but this is my first set of MT tires so I don't have anything to compare it to. I was driving side by side with a lifted truck on the hgwy and I heard his tires over mine.
Ride comfort - on bumps, around town, and on washboard caliche/dirt roads the ride is great very smooth but at hgwy speeds the truck floats around, kinda feels like a Lincoln town car.
Psi - I did the chalk test and that wanted the tires at 32 psi, I drove it around for about 10 mins and hated that ride, felt like I was riding on flats. Put it up to 45 psi and that felt a bit hard so I put them back to 40 psi which is what Discount Tire (DT) had them at.
Balancing - well DT had issues balancing the tires, I had to return 3 times. They got it right finally and also credited me back the install fee for my troubles. Shout out to Discount Tire - They Rock! Still vibrates slightly around 55-60 mpg but I think that's the best I'm gonna get. could just be the way MT tires ride?
Looks - they look awesome!!!! Have had several compliments on them already while at the gas station
Wet road traction - rained a few times since I've had them and they felt solid in the rain. good grip
mud traction - haven't had the opportunity to play in the mud yet
Anyway, overall very happy I choose these tires
