With a 3" leveling kit, it sounds like I can run the 275/65R20's without major issues. Local shop said it might work but recommended new wheels. I don't really want to spend the money on wheels right now.

So, just to ease my mind, on a stock '14 platinum crewmax 4x4 with a 3" leveling kit, and stock 20" wheels, 275/65R20 tires should fit ok, correct? Firestone Destination MT, in case anyone is wondering.

Thanks!

If you don't want to physically trim your skid plate, simply take a crescent wrench and make the jaws small, bend the edge of the skid plate up 90 degrees. It gets it out of the way and doesn't create a sharp edge that you have to paint.

I have a ReadyLift 3/2. I went to 275/60/20 and the right tire rubbed at full lock left turn. I bent the edges of skid as previously posted, problem gone. I maybe could have gone to 275/65/20.

There's a post somewhere around here showing my 2012 Plat with her new shoes on.

Update...

Went to discount tire today, paid for bfg ta ko2s 275/65R20 34on, tested fronts first, driver side has .25in clearance when turned max right, passenger side hits the skid plates when turned max left, got my refund back instead...

Just so you all know

After consulting with @dirtydeeds, he said that the bigger the tires the more horsepower it would need to spin those tires so 33s will be fine with me. And no, i dont mind folding/rolling the skid plates since its really not that big of a deal.

Thats not my main issue. I only wanted to fill in the wheel well more with the slightly bigger tires without anymore changes, but after making a few hard decisions, decided to save the money for something else in the future. Might pull the trigger on a landcruiser or gs f...

My 2012 platinum doesnt rub the skid plate, and has 1in space with 275/60R20 and 6112 top setting. Will look for other options like going newer tundra 18s with 34in KM2s.

That's the size I am contemplating on my 2015 Platinum 4x4 with the TRD Pro suspension kit. It's not a full level kit but it did raise a hair, whatcha think as far as fitment?

I have no problem adjusting skid plates and removing the mudflap, I just don't want to get them and have more problems.

TRD PRO suspension is lower than my 6112 top setting, 2in compare to 2.5in lift. I actually have 2.75in lift, but i changed my mind about those 34s. I have no problem folding the skid plates, and it didnt hit the mudflaps at all.

Any pics for these yet? I will be keeping my stock limited wheels and like to upgrade to 275/65/20 KO2s. Just narrowing down the lift choices now. Was thinking 5100s would be sufficient and had them on my old Tacoma, but now thinking of paying a little more for better Bilsteins or OME 612

Will either of these tire sizes fit the stock 2014/15 Crew Max wheels without any type of lift or leveling kit? I need new tires, but I'm still trying to decide on wheels and lift kit, so it may take a while. I have a weekend-long trek for some pigs and don't want to risk popping a tire or getting stuck. The tires the truck came with are pretty much toast after 25,000 miles.
