fwiw I have exhausted searches and have read a billion posts on this subject here and elsewhere, but 99% of them are only relevant to 2nd gen or newer tundras, for instance the earlier models such as my 2004 do not have a button to turn the nannies on/off, as you well know i'm sure
1. the VSC is automatically OFF when in 4x4, we all agree.
2. Is there ANY reason the truck should limit my throttle, brake assist go crazy hammering and vibrating, etc,. when I AM IN 4x4 and start spinning in a little mud?
the stealership has essentially dismissed me on this 3 times, saying oh yeah yeah its 'all that traction control stuff' and probably nothing wrong.. Then all they do is engage 4x4, and when the VSC OFF light appears, they tell me it is disengaging as it should and vehicle is to spec.
I have no problems otherwise. The truck still drives and rides like it did the day i drove it off the lot. I don't think it used to limit the throttle, but i didn't do much in the mud with it until the last year or so, so maybe i just didn't notice.
I had this posted in the 4x4/Off Road forum for a month or so with no comment until someone said i would get more help in the 1st Gen forums.. Anybody else have any experience with this on their truck?
