Windshield Cowling Seal

Even though I was told you had to buy the seal and the windshield cowling, I got the seal from parts. From the break down she gave me, it only shows to have a couple of bolts holding the cowling on. No clips or plastic screws because I wanted to buy all of those because they always break.

Has anyone ever done this repair?

I assume the wiper arms have a nut and are spline fit like every other vehicle?

I've had mine off a couple of times chasing a rattle but I have an 14. I don't know if the 08 are different or not.

The wiper arms take a 14 mm socket. Use a piece of electrical tape/tape to mark the position of the wipers on the windshield. That way you can put them back in the right place. Take the nut loose and then push down on the wiper arm while pulling up on part of the arm that is under the nut. They will come right off. May have to wiggle it a little.

There are two pop up locks at the ends of the cowl that look like screws. Use a stubby screw driver and slowly back them out will lifting up on them with a remover or be careful with a flathead screw driver. The center part just pops put but it helps to get them started.

This is aggravating part. At least on the 14 and up. Don't know about the 08. There are several clips that run across the front of the cowl on the engine side. Feel under the lip of the metal and you'll feel them. Push back toward the cab while lifting up on the cowl and they come loose. They are attached to the cowl. They do not come out. They are aggravating to push back enough to get them to slide through the metal hole they are in.

Hope that helps. This what they look like in the 14.

I found this link and it appears to be very similar to what I described.
