That's unfortunate that the Optima batteries are not performing as the original productions. I guess with mine lasting that long they can not make money after an original purchase. Maybe it is some type of Marketing gain. I might just have to take the original one out of my other Toyota truck and install it in the Tundra. It has enough cranking amps plus a tad more of what is required to start the Tundra

Yeah I was big on Optima back in my heavy stereo days and they were awesome. I've used uncountable Yellow, and Blue tops in the last few years. A friend of mine had Red tops. Sadly I've had to warranty them every year to 2 years max. Theyd just die all of a sudden. He finally gave up and switched to some other brand. My friend worked at Advance and would replace them for me but he's no longer there. When my last Blue top dies in the boat I'm never getting any more of them. It's only on my trolling motor so hard telling when it'll go.

I have a 2014 which was purchased in Nov. 2013. Battery started to struggle to start the truck, so I knew it was coming. I went out yesterday morning to start the truck and got the clicks of doom. I ordered a yellow top optima straight from their website. I am hoping that the bad luck people are having is due to the battery sitting on a shelf due to the price for extended periods of time. Only 2 years out of the stock battery. I do have a couple of amps, but they are the really efficient JL HD amps. I have been noticing the headlights dim when the bass hits. I have always solved the issue in the past with a capacitor, but it seems those have gone out of style or something. I hope the optima lives up to its name. If not, a custom winding job is in the plans for a better alternator solution. Anyone done that to their alternator?

So, i replaced my clamps and cleaned out my terminals and holder due to excessive leakage from my 2012 stock battery and was wondering how much longer i have left before i need to replace the problematic thing? I have 46600mi on the odometer, nav, premium jbl, and rear dvd, and will keep this truck until the wheels fall off. Went to autozone and theyre recommending their new duralast platinum, but im thinking of asking costco, hahaha. Yes. I said costco battery.

My 2008 I believe still has the original battery in it. I bought it in 2011, and I guess they could have replaced the battery before then, but I don't know. Anyways, about a year and a half ago, my dealer told me the battery tested low and I would do good to make it another week or so on the battery, but it hadn't struggled one bit to start the truck or given me any problems. I had expected to go ahead and replace it this winter before I get stranded. Yesterday my wife was driving the truck to work and had come home for lunch. I guess the door didn't shut all the way or the lights were left on, but she went back outside about 15 minutes later and the truck was dead. I had to jump it off last night and while I could probably milk it a little longer, I'm going to just replace it this weekend and be done with it. My cousin works at a Firestone, and their Interstate batteries are the same price as me going to Advance Auto and buying their brand. I'll be going with the Interstate.

Interstate are good. I forgot to mention the only reason I went with the AGM from Advance Auto... is the pile of junk blue top Optima died and I told then I was done with them and they warrantied it and I went with the Autocraft Platinum AGM. It's been in the Tundra for a while and working fine.

Ive been reading battery reviews and watched videos about batteries, so far Im impressed with Die Hard Platinum's review. It was shot in half and still started the truck, hahaha. I just need a REAL REVIEWof the DURALAST PLATINUM from you guys. My battery isnt dead yet but i dont like build ups and leakage from it anymore, and i know summer time is closing in and it will happen again especially here in Vegas.

To follow up on my battery replacement search, i was at costco this morning and they confirmed to not carry the 27 series for our 5.7s but carry the 24 series for the 4.6s. So, Duralast Platinum and Die Hard Platinum for now until i get more reviews about these two.

Let us know what you end up with. I've been trying to find the 31m for a few weeks now with no luck in the Denver area. I'm just waiting for my factory battery to crap out after running it down during my remote start install. Plus it's close to five years old.

I will be replacing my battery soon. I read that Optima are no longer made by the same factory and the quality has not been the same as a result which is why their ratings have dropped. I went with an american made product out of Pennsylvania; Deka Intimidator 9A34R AGM battery. I plan on keeping the truck 'til it's dead so I like to buy stuff I think will last.

I bought a Bosch size 27F from Pep Boys a few months ago. It was on sale for $105. Not sure who makes it but so far it's been problem free.
Curious because I'm considering purchasing one tomorrow. How is that Pep boys Bosch Premium battery working for you now? My original OEM is still the truck, but I'm looking to change it now.

I hate to revive this from dead but...
I drive a 2008 Tundra With the 5.7. The OEM battery is still starting the vehicle in -20 degree weather but I better get ahead of this LOL
Correct me if I'm wrong but the 24F is for the 4.6 and the 27F is for the 5.7?
I am buying Interstate and supporting Kyle Busch's sponsor.

It seems that some manufacturers don't make the 27F and substitute it with another model. (Costco doesn't appear to carry the 27F in my area). That may be the 24F. Whatever that other model substitution is, it is a physically smaller battery. I think it's the same height. Supposed to put out an adequate amount of juice, but it is a smaller battery. I just purchased the 27F from Interstate. Hopefully it'll last me as long as my OEM battery did (I doubt it). The battery at Walmart sounds like it may be a good buy, but I really don't know.
