stock battery.. my 07 tundra had the original battery in it & it had 64k on it

WalMart Everstart FTW!

Optima used to be a quality battery. Used to be. :dunno:
Whats comparable (I mean better) at $200.00 price range? I need to pick one up today. 720 CCA, tons of reserve, long warranty?

Key word there is "used" my buddy is on his 3rd warrantied yellow top.. I stick with oem's in my vehicles & my truck. If you got 77k out of it, it's a no brainer to get another.

OE leaked for most of its life. I spent a couple hours cleaning everything this AM.

The Optima is supposed to be 'sealed'.

Are the Die-Hards or others sealed?

Diehard Platinum has been #1 ranked battery in consumer reports for last couple years if you're looking for an awesome battery. If you need a battery go to sears and get a Diehard Platinum AGM battery. They can be found for 190 to 230 usually

Went to buy the Optima Red. Ended up with the Duralast Platinum for $80 less. More CCA's, same warranty, less $$.

The Die-Hard batteries look great, but they are more than I wanted to spend.

Optima red top $140.00 out the door........

The Sears Platinum, being an AGM battery, should withstand deep discharges better than regular lead/acid batteries (ie. leaving the lights on overnight). Also I'm pretty sure AGMs are sealed as well.

If you get an AGM battery you should get a charger for AGM batteries. They charge at a higher voltage, etc. They also take a longer time to charge if it's ever needed for whatever reason.

They do cost a lot but the warranty is nice. They are very heavy.

Haven't replaced mine yet. The green light is very dim so it's a matter of time before I get a new one. Probably will go with Interstate Battery. I'm over 151k now and 5 1/2 years so we know it's time but will go until a dead cell shows up.

I was about to pick up an ODYSSEY battery, but heard and read on the forums people have been using the DIEHARD PLATINUM P5 at sears which is made by the same manufacturer that makes Odyssey. Its a little cheaper and will not have acid leaks. Also it is the same specs

i have a odyssey in my sidexside and it has never given me problems. AGM battery is the way to go to prevent rust from normal batteries

i put a diehard platinum in 2 mos. ago
i had red top optima start to leak, just under 3 year warranty, they gave me a new one that i put in wifes car. i had good luck before with optima, but now they suck.
We will see if sears diehard platinum is any good..

I hope you have better luck than I did. I'm an Interstate man thru and thru. No one in my Tri City area stocked an interstate for our trucks. I wish I would have had timeto order mine.

You have time to think ahead and have your favorite dealer have one on the shelf for you.

So you put the battery that you don't trust into your wife's car? I'm going to assume she doesn't know that.

What battery size and style do you all use?

Hello all. I am curious to know what batteries you all use in your 2gen Tundras?

Before my battery dies in the near future I am looking at replacement options. I currently have some off brand one that I had to buy in a pinch a few years ago.

I put a lot of stress on my batteries so I need something I know can hold up. It is exposed to negative temps for long periods of time and extreme heat occasionally. It also receives a fair amount of draw from the stock stereo. I am often waiting in lines for ferries with the engine off and radio on for extended periods.

I do not have any high draw accessories but I do want to get a small portable compressor for the occasional fill up in the near future. A winch may also be in the works.

So what do you recommend? I have been looking at the DieHard Platinum Automotive Battery Group Size 35 but not sure if that is perfect for my needs or not. Any help appreciated!
