Morning,

Have a 2104 TRD DC, all stock except I had a tire issue and needed new shoes, went with KO2's @ 275/70/18 as they fit on stock setup. I have 6112/5100 combo arriving today. Currently I measure 37" front and 41" rear off flat ground on stock suspension. I was planning on going the 1.9" typical setting on the 6112 with no change in back height (call it a 2/0 level). However, when the time comes will likely do rims with more favorable offset and would like a bit wider rubber. So, curious if I should go to the 2.5" top setting on the 6112 instead, just worried about nose high and wasn't planning on shackles in back. The math says this leaves me with 0.5" rake, which is fine - if true. But if I knew I could get 295/18 rubber on without issue at 1.9" than would likely stay there. Daily driver so not interested in getting too carried away, very infrequent heavy hauling and off roading. Appreciate any expert opinion / insight.

pm coachbuilder, i think he recommends 1.9 with his shims ontop to get more then 2" lift but keep the ride quality of the 1.9"

Thanks guys,

I think I am figuring out my preferred route on installation. Very much appreciate the info.

I would like to know what is max size tire with no rubbing (assuming rims with better offset than OEM) if I was to stay at the 3rd clip on the 6112's. In other words, is there a major difference in clearance with top clip vs 3rd clip (2" vs 2.5" lift up front)

Stick with 2". If you go higher you might need new UCAs to get good alignment, and going higher won't fix your clearance issues (if you have any)... because sometimes you will hit bumps when turning. It isn't like your truck will be at 2.5" all the time.

If you want to maximize your tire size, you need to pay attention to your wheel offset. Don't go lower than +25. +30 or +35 may be better. You should be fine with minor mods to gain clearance with 35x12.5 or smaller. With a little more work, you can even fit 37x13.5. This guy did it with a 2" front lift: http://www.tundratalk.net/forums/tu...t/forums/tundra-build-logs/373353-kevinks-2014-doublecab-5-7-ffv-4x4-trd-5.html

I recently posted a thread about this stuff here: http://www.tundratalk.net/forums/tu...tundra-suspension-talk/641778-strut-lifts-tire-size-wheel-offset-clearance.html

BTW, I think the 6112s are a great choice. Unfortunately my truck will be loaded though, so the 600lb springs aren't ideal.

Got the 6112/5100 setup installed today. Ended up going to third clip up (or one down from top) on the 6112's. Looks like it is completely leveled at moment by eyeball in the dark. I hear they will settle some after a few thousand miles. I have 275/70/18 on KO2's and OEM rims which are brand new just prior to pulling the trigger on the suspension. All things considered think this was the right setting with no change out back other than 5100 install.

They ride noticeably better than the stock TRD shocks / springs - huge improvement in my book. Thanks for the input all.

I've got the same kit on my 08 DC, they get better the harder you beat on them! Lands nice and smooth too! I noticed a huge improvement when pulling my toy hauler in reducing that galloping down the highway feeling! I went with the 2.5" setting, and am considering air bags in the rear now, it's really squatting with 1600lbs of tongue weight!

Here's my '14 with 6112s on the highest setting, Toytec shackles on the back and 295/70/18 Nitto RidgeGraplers. I had to trim back the splash plate a bit to get rid of some rubbing when the wheels are fully turned.
