Maybe customer service meant to say you don't need new bushings? Attached is a copy of the installation instructions from: Bilstein US online catalog

Install the complete shock/reservoir assemblies on the vehicle in reverse order of removal. Reuse all OE upper stem mount hardware. Use provided Bilstein lock nut.

I couldn't see your attachment. I had ranchos but the bushings would not fit. The 5160 should come with bushing that fit specifically for them.

For anyone needing this information in the future, the OE upper stem mount hardware includes upper bushing 48505-0C010, lower bushing 47131-0C010, and lower bushing retainer 48597-0C010. (Off-road packages have slightly different part numbers.)

I used my OEM parts as instructed in the instructions..

I got rid of the stock mounts when I put the new parts on. Going away from 5160's, really not a big deal just seeing if anyone has had this problem. But thank you for the words of wisdom. ?

When in doubt, and you seem to be, RTFM.

If you did indeed mount those 5160s without bushings, may God help you with your future endeavors..

You were given friendly advise, 'er I mean advice.
The instructions read to use existing OEM bushings and nuts.
Since you tossed yours, all you'd have to do is buy some more.
But for some reason that isn't acceptable to you.

I doubt they will warrant the shock since you installed it improperly in the first place.
Did you really install a moving metal to metal suspension part without a bushing?
How did you think that was going to turn out?
