5000 Mile Maintenance--Surprises...

That was on my invoice...

I have Husky mats in it. Guess they don't meet specs. It is because of the "throttle sticking" ordeal that Toyota had/has. So, to be covered, you have to buy their mats...

I actually did not decline their correction as they never asked me to replace the Husky with Toyota mats. But, that statement probably covers their asses...

And, the Maintenance Guide says oil change and filter at 5000/6 months. Seems that isn't true with synthetic oil. NO PLACE can I find that in the manuals or guides that it is 10000 miles or before at the owners discretion...

So, I made a 40-mile trip to get the 5000 mile service and got the oil checked and the washer fluid topped off...

And informed, in writing, unlike the 10000 mile oil change, that my mats would end all Toyota liability...

I must say that the service etc. was much better with my 2011 than it has started out to be with the 2014...

Read the fine print I guess, if you can find it...

Beginning to wonder now--I have heard reports that are not the highest standards for Toyota. Hope they are isolated...

Good-luck...BCB

Piss on the stealer. They ask me that everytime I come in with the cheap NOT so worth a dime tundra OEM mats UNDER my big rubber floor mats and even put it on the service work when come in for free oil changes and tire rotations every 5K miles. If flex fuel 5.7L, I know in 2012 and 2013, not sure on 2014, the tundra flex fuel only gets free every 5K miles both tire rotation and synthetic oil changes.
