3/1 installed today.. 305/55r20 or what???

I'm so stuck! I know people have asked this a million times, but I just can't decide. I do quite a bit of road driving, so I don't want a ton of noise, but I still want it to looks good. I'm leaning Terra Grappler or Toyo AT II I think.

I got my 3/1 installed today, but I need some wheels and tires FAST! Is there a better size to get than the 305/55r20 ? I'm a little bit afraid I'll buy the 305's and they'll end up looking small. I've heard a few people say that. I'm even open to sticking with the 18" wheel.

Any suggestions? Any pics? Anyone have some experience with this?

I love the look of this truck from a different forum, but the dude is inactive and has hardly any details in his signature.

Thanks in advance!

305 is the width and that's plenty wide. My truck had 295/55/20's on it when I bought it, when they wear out im going to step up to a 295/60 cause the 55's look a little small to me.

That truck you posted appears to have 18" wheels on it. do a search on here for the tire size you want or just browse the gallery and find a setup you like. You also must take into account the offset of the wheels you pick, tons of guys are running 35 x 12.50 tires but you gotta have the right offset.

Go with the 305/55/20's

Just installed a set of Terra Graps in that size on my Double Cab and couldn't be happier, more aggressive look, and pretty darn quiet on the highway.

Truck can look great with 18's or 20's, but I am glad I went with the 20's. With a 3/1 lift you'll likely just have a little rubbing, depending on your wheel offset. Mine were +10, I'd suggest staying between +10 and +25 for best fit with those size tires.

Thanks for the quick replies. I appreciate the input.

I've decided I want to go with 20's, and I'd like to go with 295/60r20 but I'm still researching that. I feel pretty confident I can make the 305/55r20 work if I find out the 295/60s will be too much of a pain.

Guess it's time to do a little more research into wheel offsets etc. to see if anyone is making this work.

Thanks again!

I actually just ordered my 305's yesterday! I also wanted a bigger wheel so went with 20's. Funny thing is that I ordered a new style wheel and looked very similar to worktrucks wheel! Fuel coupler. I ordered the +20 because I want the tire to fit easily but stick out far enough so that my BW flares do not look dumb

Both are nice rigs man....but I prefer the look of the white one. I really like the dished look/large lip on a rim.

How bad was his rubbing, and what did he do to resolve it?

He had to move the inner fender forward and remove both mud flaps off the front, and it still will slightly rub if he gets it to almost full lock when backing up on an incline.

Me personally I like my wider 305's better than his 295's. His looks too skinny especially on a wheel stuck out that far.

I like the looks of a deep dish wheel too, but it will make things harder to fit and not rub. My pics fool you... They actually have a 2" lip on them, but where they're black you can't see it as good in the pics. His has about 3 to 3.5"

They both look great. I love that Spruce color on yours. I don't see very many of those.

I bought the 295/60R20 trail grapplers yesterday with Chrome XD Monsters with a +35 offset. The shop had to order them so it'll be a week before I can get them put on.

I can't wait!

Thanks for all the input. It really helped.

I'm confused about the pic of the white truck above. If he's +10 those 295's should be sticking out past the fender more. You're running 305's with a +30 wheel and yours are sticking out significantly. +10 sticks out more than a +30 and 295's are only 10mm thinner than your 305's. I'm no expert but he looks more like +30 to +50. I could have this all wrong but I'm just asking.

Just looked it up... it's a +12 on his truck. And I'd highly not recommend those wheels. He's had them warrantied already for bubbling chrome. And they're doing it again. BMF has had trouble with finishes. Apparently they dont make his wheel in chrome anymore

His backspacing says 5.5" and mine say 6.14" so that plays into the equation as well

Got my 295/60r20 Trail Grapplers and XD Monsters put on today.

I really like the look. What do you think? I think it's a great tire size.

Nice setup! I like the chrome XD's for sure.

Ill likely go with Terra Grapplers to maximize ride comfort & quietness, but that looks sweet anyway!

I see you took off both front flaps, did you have to do anything else to stop rubbing?

I'm very happy with the look of my truck with the 305/55r20. Hugh difference in look from the 275/55r20, but I believe half of it is from the stance from going from a +60 offset to a +20 offset.
