Fttam, that is so damn sweet. What thickness is that steel plate that you bent? Link for the T nuts?
It's been a while but I could swear that I used 1/4" thick 3" wide flat stock. I measured from the rail to the "pocket" in the bed liner, bent it to fit and I have to say it rests VERY snugly. The bracket in the front has two t-nuts behind it to keep the bracket from moving fore and aft with the weight of the jack on it. The rear bracket carries less weight and only needed one t-nut behind it.

This is them: T-nuts on Amazon

Then I simply installed a bolt thru each bracket that go thru the holes in the jack, and picked up two large knobs that hold the jack to the bracket. The knobs fit perfectly inside to recess in the Jack's main bar.

No rattle once you keep the handle from banging around, I put thousands of miles on the truck with it back there (I'm lucky no one stole it. I gotta rig up a padlock for it).

I'm trying to mount my Hi-lift jack in the bed of the truck. I purchased a Hi-Lift 4xrac mount and was going to mount the jack inside the bed on the passenger in the indention. What I'm trying to figure out is how do you screw into the metal without drilling through the bed? Will using short screws into the sheet metal of the bed hold the jack? Are there any kind of nut insert that will work in the wall of the bed sheet metal?
What you want might be "Cylindrical Cage Nuts ". They come in many varieties.
Maybe

Thanks a lot for the link to the T nuts. I had no idea what you were talking about. That explains it.

1/4" is pretty thick to bend. Looking at the pic, I would guess 3/16.

Nice work! Thanks for the step by step. I'm going to try and copy it.

i have mine mounted to the bed rail I drilled holes in rail installed lag bolts and tightened them to bed rail with washers and nuts then put the jack on and installed washers with wingnuts for quick access I had a post on here some where

I know this thread is old but I recently bought a press brake so I could make my hi-lift brackets. They turned out pretty good.

If anyone is interested in a set of these or needs any other brackets made I can bend up to 1/2" thick steel bar. I would probly charge something like cost of materials + 10 bucks to help make me feel better about how much I spent on the press brake... Let me know what you all think!

@redorangefreak - do you have another mounting point/ bracket at the bottom directly behind the jack? Its kinda hard to tell but looks like something is back there. Nice work btw.
Below the bolt where the hilift mounts, the same piece of bar goes down another inch or 2, makes a 90 towards the bed wall and another 90 in the upwards direction. I did that so the bracket could rest against the bed wall and prevent any lateral movement from twisting my bed rails (the rails are pretty solid but I like to over engineer things). Then in the 1" part that is flush against the bed wall I used 2 of the smallest stainless sheet metal screws I could find to keep the bracket from swinging out (again probably not necessary but now I can grab the bracket and shake as hard as I can and it doesn't budge). Hopefully that helps. If that doesn't make any sense I can try to sketch something up for you.
