I haven't mounted mine yet. I'm almost tempted to not do so -- I mean, it's a Toyota, what's to break?

Anyhow, I'm thinking of putting it over the brake controller, and routing the cable inside the dash, right next to the controller wiring. I decided to put my controller onto a small hobby board (I do some scrollsawing from time to time), so it's 1/4" thick, cut to fit into the ashtray rail. I can slide out the controller and remove it, if I wanted to, but it's already out of the way.

I put some poly onto the board, and I think the Scanguage velcro will work on it ok.

Finally put mine in, right over the brake controller, like I wanted. I ran the cable in behind the dash; the kick panel removes with just two screws. I did have to unscrew the ashtray slide thing (two more screws) in order to get enough access; but the brake controller cable runs back there too. Couple of zip ties hold the cable in place.

Not quite as clean as I'd like, but good enough for my purposes. I usually monitor ATF temp, water temp, instant mpg and mpg for the tank.
