I did a double Drain/Fill @ 87K on my 06 DC 4×4 Ltd A750F with tow package. Each drain was about 3.2 qts. Did not pin the thermostat as a full flush would. Ran slowly up and down all gears(about 15 seconds in each) twice while applying brakes to engage fresh thru all. Next morning repeated process.
Capacity is 11 qts so refreshing over half more than satisfactorily and safely gave my occasionally long idle/traffic jam, short trip, rare towing, occasionally 220 mile highway trips, not dogged Drive Train all it needs along with U Joint/Spyder drive shaft and dif/transfer case gear fluid replace. Also Flushed Radiator/Full Block, PS Reservoir/System Fluid and Brake Lines. Overkill?
I think not. Just wish that I did tranny love 20K sooner but wasn't and still isn't giving even a hint of issues, runs cool, shifts perfectly.
Am for 5K/1 year max oil changes, as health/driving dictates. It isnt always easy now, so am glad I got started before that mythical BS 100K/Lufetime WS con job phooey.
If it is Your Truck since new, why wouldn't keeping up with good practice maintenance be done without question?
Working my ass off/ignorance caused my delayed full attention, so yes, there are reasonable considerations.
Trusting the Stealership is a desperate or fool's folly, and if DIY isn't your bag, fine.
After all it is YOUR truck.
I plan on keeping mine until I'm dead or close to it.
And what a gift to leave your kid or theirs!
Am near 104K miles now.
Now for that damned Timing Belt Kit job...
Maybe at 150K.
