Ive been getting estimates for mounting and balancing some new tires and while Im at it I would like them to just install these new 1.25 Spidertrax spacers. 2 out of the four places Ive checked...including the dealer...wouldn't even touch them they said. They told me my bearings would be shot in no time since they put excessive stress on everything and highly discourage them...What are everyones thoughts?? Have you had bearing / drivetrain issues after installing spacers??

BS. They also say don't run your fuel tank below half in fear of burning up a pump. Its overprotective in my opinion. I made my spacers and those are 1.5" thick. I have run them for a long time. Absolutely no issues. Its not like you are putting the tires out another 6 inches or something crazy like that. I run 2" on my jeep with no problem as well. My Tundra has spacers and wider than normal tires and I have had zero issues, probably going on 40,000 miles with this setup.
That's what Ive thought...this one place was so addament about never installing them it just started freaking me out! I told them theyre only 1.25 and they acted like I was installing them a foot out!

You will be fine. I run 1.5's on mine with no issues.
Thanks! What front leveling kit did you use on your truck? looks great! have those mods ( leveling kit..spacers..etc..) had any major negative impact on the performance with the 4.6?

It is the kit from Supreme Suspension. I will have to look to see which part number I ordered. A lot of people do the front and rear but that's because they get bigger tires. I just did the front. The leveling kit didn't affect performance but you can definitely tell the truck is lifted once you sit in it. The SABM and the K&N drop in helped though. >:D
Awesome - I actually just ordered the Supreme Suspension 2" kit off ebay..so hopefully it will give similar results. I didn't want anything crazy just hate t he nose down look on these...not to mention the tucked in wheels! Did you install a differental drop too?

I think mine is the 2" as well. I'll look to be sure. No I didn't need a diff drop or anything. I run wheel spacers to bring mine outside the flares.
Perfect! did you pay to have them installed? If so..how much?

Since Im keeping the factory wheels for now my 1.25" spacers should bring me about flush to slightly out Im hoping.

Funny I haven't seen any "I have xxx miles on my spacers without failure."

Wheel spacers will and do put extra stress on your ball joints & wheel bearings. I had 1.25" spidertrax on a couple setups and they will. To be fair, your not using your Truck like I do my Jeep unless you are towing.

There have been plenty of issues with spacers...just read around, not just here. I ran them for offroad use only. Lost my scrub radius, so steering sucked ass.

Don't get me wrong, this isn't going to happen overnight, but will happen.
Im not a car guru..I just want the "look" and be safe! I get what you're saying and that's my fear because I know there HAVE seen people report issues but as a majority...I THINK they seem to pretty pretty safe..especially @ only 1.25"..and it doesn't seem any different if you think about it then when someone installs new wheels with a higher offset as well..theyre still "outside" the factory designed specs..so I would imagine they could screw up your bearings just as easy.
