Hey guys, thinking about ditching my bro dozer setup and getting into 17's. Im running icon coils set for 2.5in lift and 20x12 rims with the rubberband Nitto 420 305 50 20 tires. Im after a softer ride on and off-road. From all the suspension and off-road gurus out there, what are the pros and cons of 17's and 20's? Will there be a significant difference in ride quality going to 17's? Think about 285 70 17 at2's.

Yes it will ride better and be less susceptible to rim damage from sharp bumps, but IMO that small of a rim on such a large vehicle makes it look like a Tonka truck or Hot Wheels toy. Something a kid would play with. Minimum rim for this truck is 18". JMO though, you should do what you want, its your truck. :yesnod:

I switched from 20's to the 17" Rock Warrior wheels and noticed a slight improvement in ride quality. Both E rated tires. More sidewall means more flex off-road if your air down and lessens the possibility of rim damage. I personally like the look of more tire and less wheel but to each their own. Also, I doubt anyone could eyeball the difference between a 17" and 18" wheel.
