WD-40 = New PB

So for the second time I tried using WD-40 on my worn out M&H cheater slicks and both times I have got my best 60' times. The first time I used WD-40 was the first time I ran in the 11s, the launch felt great and netted me a 1.69s 60' time and the first 11 second Tundra slip.

With the cool weather days becoming very limited, I gave my bud Al (BRX) a text on Thursday to hit the track on Friday. Of course he was down to go!!

Loaded up my gear but before loading up my worn out Cheater slicks I sprayed them down with WD-40. Yes WD-40. Don't know exactly why it works but it does. ( Although it is more meant for worn out tires). Don't think I will try it when I get a new set of Cheater Slicks.

So my first pass with the WD-40 sprayed down slicks got me a bunch of new PBs. The launch never felt better as it just flat out hooked with a 1.66s 60' time. My 1/8 mile and 1/4 mile times were also PBs. Hope to have a video of my run soon as I completely smoked an unsuspecting stock Nissan Titan ( dude seemd pretty cool).

Overall it was great night, hanging out and racing with my buds Al ( BRX) and Jack and Fred from lightning rodder.

Nice run. The WD40 probably started eating the rubber and softened it up.

Back in the day I tried stuff called VHT track bite. It is meant for slicks but I tried it on normal street tires. It actually worked to some degree but it wore off very quickly....one pass and change.

Hehehe. BFG Drag Radials had minimum tread depths but I used to keep running them until the cords were hanging out too.

That works too? Lol. J/k.
Ain't you going to put it in? I'm contemplating to get one. Just pulling off the old one is holding me back :D

^^^^ No, atleast not until I am running a standalone. Which may not happen either. I am pretty happy with my current setup and might just enjoy it for a bit.

Man if I could just get a 1.6x 60'.... I should probably go get a WD-40 spray can tomorrow, maybe a differential locker just in case :D

I would not spray your new M&Hs with WD-40, those things were real sticky last Friday. I think its the reason why they are so hard to do a burnout with with your open diff. Your truck + Diff lock = WHEELIE.

Pushed dipping the truck a month back. Getting a locker this week. Hopefully, installed before Friday :D Fred is gonna have some wheelie competition now :lol5:
