I have been having a problem randomly with my 4wd. When engaged in 4wd my vehicle stability control still engages when in 4wd even when the dash says VSC OFF. Has anyone been having these problems? It’s most notable especially in snow when tires begin slipping. It’s a 2008 crew max with the 5.7. In 2016 I put the 5100’s at top setting. Could this be part of the issue? Do I need to do a zero point calibration? Just strange how dash says VSC off, yet have this problem.
You only do that to turn VSC off when you’re in 2wd and don’t want it on. That’s not the problem I’m having. VSC should turn off automatically when you engage into 4wd. It shows VSC off on dash, yet it’s not shutting off.
No, you do it to turn it off in 4 wheel drive also. Push it once you get the "trac off" light. Hold it down for 3 seconds and it turns it all of so your 4 wheel drive works the way it's supposed to. I use it a lot. I have the same suspension setup and have not needed any recalibrating but maybe your truck needs it. Good luck.
