put the stock bulb and take it to the dealer, had the same issue 2 times and was replaced no issues. 3rd set have had hids for over a year with no more water issues

Any idea what was finally changed?

I just had my hids catch on fire 3 times due to water in the lens. I ordered a new lens hoping to fix the problem. Any ideas? Hid bulbs are getting expensive.

Catch fire? Holy melted lenses batman!
Did the fire cause any other damage?

No damage! Just a melted bulb and wiring. Everytime it would rain I would smell burning, pull back the inner fender, and see a nice little fire. And 1/2 inch of water in the housing

No clue , maybe just a bad seal from manufacturer? The driver side was fine the whole time, the passengers just kept getting moisture inside and it certainly wasn't the hids.

Like I said though, no problems after the second replacement

had this same problem in my 08,put the stock bulb back in and they replaced it for free.put the cheap bulbs i had back in and the water came back,the non oem bulbs weren't sealing as good,put the oem bulbs back in and thats how it got traded in.put hid's in the fogs of my 12 crewmax the first week i had it and haven't had any problems.
