I started a previous thread about my 07 Tundra w/ the starter running all the time. I tried to tow it home but was unable to get it to shift out of park. When I depress the brakes, with or without the key in the ignition, the starter cranks. Surely as odd as this seems, someone has a solution. Truck died before these symptoms began. Thanks

There should be a shift interlock little tab near your shifter that you can stick your key in to unlock the park interlock. This will allow you to put it in neutral without turning the key on. It might be behind a little door that you can flip open with the key.

This sounds like anti-theft stuff kicking in.

One day I did not engage the ignition all the way (turn key just enough to get the engine start to go on) and the truck just turned over. I then tried again but fully enaged the key and truck started as ususual.

Had a POS Volvo years ago that had this problem: the anti-theft stuff would kick in at times and the car would just turn over and not start.
