40's = 4.88's. u will never see your 6th gear overdrive with 40's on the highway. Your factory brakes will be fine for quite sometime, they are heavy duty to begin with. I've had 33's, 35's, 37's and now 38's, not to mention 20x8.5, 20x 9.5's, 20x10's, and presenty, 20x12 wheels as well. I noticed the bigger wheel- tire kits i put on my rig, the more downshifting the truck does, Mind u, I still run my factory 4.30 gears right now- 4.88's r calling my name for my next mod- But i have to budget just like you- Big T has made me broke, lol

BTW, post up a pic of that :GIANT" or it never happened:D U obviously must be BP lifted or something
