Nitto trails. I hear really good things about em. These will be my next set.
Toyo Or Nitto?
so im at a crossroad for tires looking at a few all are 35x12.5 R20 Ive had all 3 of these tires and cant decide which one to buy next. Currently i have the Toyos

I know the Mudds have low wear life but kicka$$ in the mudd. The trails are good but suck in the sand (i drive on the beach alot on the weekends). The Toyos are good as well and are good in the sand. All three tires to me are good tires just dont know which ones to get next? Someone help!!! hah

Where did you hear trails suck in the sand????? I've heard they are great in the sand. I'd go with the nitto trails.
I've been researching the hell out of the Nitto Mud Grappler Vs Toyo Open Country Mud Terrain the last few days. My Interco m16's are about 25% tread after 10000 miles and I'm quite disappointed in the wear.
Every forum I've read the general idea I've gotten has been that both are similar in price and the Nitto MG don't last as long as the the Toyo OC MT. 35/40k vs 55/60k. The Nitto's are also ALOT louder. I'm going towards the Nitto's because 1. They look much more aggressive and 2. I'm looking at a 15.50" wide tire for both and the ACTUAL width of the Toyo's is 15.90" and the Nitto's are 16.30"! Mine as well be a 16.50. Now that's some meat! lol. I don't know if all their sizes run larger like that but my intercos at 14.50 from what I remember are actually only a 14.0" width. So make sure you can tuck the Nitto's if you decide to go with them since I'm assuming all their sizes run large.
Cheapest place I've found the Nitto's out the door price has been discounttiredirect. I've looked at tirecrawler, rimzoneonline and 4wheelparts who were the top other 3. I unfortunately have to spend $3700.00 on a set of 5. You should be able to get out for a little cheaper then that ;-) lol

I say go with TOYO. I had 3 sets of 37x12.50 R18 TOYO Open Country MTs on my old diesel and they all lasted over 50,000 miles each and never had a flat. I had a set of Nitto Mud Graplers in the same size and I only got 18,000 outta them and they were so loud you could here the truck coming from a mile away.
Lasr i heard, Toyo owns Nitto. If you want an A/T tire, take a look also at the falken Rocky Mountain. I had nittos and love them, but heard good things about the Toyos. How long they last it will be depending on you. Rotate every 3 to 4k miles and mantain the truck alignment.
I get about 40k out of the 295/70r18 Nitto Trail Grapplers. This is my second set and they have about 10k left in them. I'm hoping to go to 37x12.50r18 next and will probably go with the Toyo M/T to switch it up and because Nitto doesn't make the 37x12.50 for 18" wheels and Toyo does.

I heard the Toyos have issues with pulling to the left or right going down the highway. Ive never had a set so cant say Ive had problems. Duratracs are perty sweet to
I like my Nitto Terra Grapplers. I will probably do the 285/75/18 next time in the Toyo if I'm gonna go that big, otherwise I'll do Duratracs for their offroad prowess and try to get my gears going right again on the truck.
Anyway, I would avoid the Mud Grapplers. If you've graduated high school, you have advanced to a set of Toyo MTs or a set of Interco tires if you really want that mud traction. Sorry, but I hate the Mud Grapplers. They're always on the biggest poser trucks and we put 'em on for a few people who just fit that mold. Go with the Toyos, Trails, or a set of Intercos but please don't do the Mud Grapplers.

I have the Toyo mt's on my truck and I love them. They have been great in all conditions, sand, mud, snow, etc. Just my $.02
Nitto and toyo are sister companies. Manufactured in the same plant. Toyos rubber compound is a little bit harder than nitto. Nitto muds sound like you are driving a 747 down the road! Annoying loud! Toyo mt are great, although I've heard about the pulling right issue I've never had that issue. Plus they last for 50k+ which is Pretty sweet for a mud tire. I've never ran the nitto trails so I don't know how they truely are. They look great and aren't as loud as nitto mudders though.
I'm running general red letters and I like them a lot. Have put 25k+ on them and they are on the down side of 50% tread so I'm guessing they'll die around 40-45k

Not sure if ill run general red letters again or go back to toyo mt's. Ill prob just go with the tires I get the best price on.

I have the Toyo MT's on my truck, have about 18000 kms (11k miles)..only rotated once and they still look brand new approx 90%+ tread...no pulling issues, and not overly loud...great tire, in mud, sand and even pretty decent in the snow, havent tried the Nittos, but have had several sets of BFG A/T's and these Toyos are as good if not better in all conditions...fwiw

I've got a set of Toyo MTs and while I only have about 1500 miles on them at this point, there is no pulling to the right (or left) as others have talked about. A good friend of mine has the Nitto Trail Grapplers and they have been great tires as well. The Nittos are a bit louder on the asphalt but not obnoxiously so.
