Just had new tires put on, toyo open country at2 275/70/18. The tire says max psi is 80, however the tire shop returned it to me at 35psi. What should I inflate them to for everyday driving and light towing?

80psi is the max rating for the tire. If you run them at that pressure your ride will be stiff as hell, especially unloaded. I usually run between 35-40 psi depending if I'm hauling a heavy load or trailer. If I'm towing, I'll bump the psi a bit.

I have the 305 55 20 and I run 40psi all around. Max on mine is 65psi.
More than 40 and the ride gets pretty harsh. Might air up a bit when towing.

Put them at 38 PSI and go from there, 35 seems a tad low for that size tire but if the ride is nice and your sidewall does not seem to be impacted then it may work for you.

The toyo at2's do look bada$$. I just really wish they offered it in a 285/65r18 or 295/70r18.

Recommended psi from Toyo for 305/55/20 ATii extreme was no lower than 48 in the front and 51 in the rear. These are the specs they recommend for weight distribution when going from the 275/65/18 stock tire at 32 psi to the new size.

When I got my truck back, it had 32 psi in there (door jamb recommendation) and it felt really loose and squirelly. I put 52 psi in all around and the ride (and mpg) is much, much better.

My mistake. I did know that they made a 285/65, just wish they offered it in a 295/70r18.

Update, just went up to 50psi and that seems to work a lot better for handling and mpg! And the ride didn't change much at all. When I first got the tires I tried 45psi and the truck was very rough so I went with 40psi and that seemed to help. So I am assuming the sidewalls have softened up a bit and 50psi works great now. Hope this helps.
