I had this a few months ago. Light flashed for like a minute then stayed on. Mine never went off until I replaced the tps sensor that had died. Every time I started the truck the light would flash for about a minute then stay on. I think Sefiro might be right that you have a battery going low which is why it started working again, or you could have lost communication with one of the TPMS sensors for a short time. 7-8 years seems to be about how much time you get with those sensors.

When I put tires on this last summer, I replaced all the sensors with pre-programmed, non-OEM sensors I bought on Amazon for like $75. They worked great. I lost communication with one of them one time and the tire shop re-learned the sensor and it has worked ever since.

BTW, there is no tpms sensor in the spare tire.

There is in my 2006Tundra steel rim spare.
Didn't have correct denso TPMS Valve when the mounting of new spare tire occurred so just ignore solid TPMS Light.
I have a more than adequate high pressure Air Guage for my 4 10 ply 265/70R/17s.
Always measure before long highway trips and never more than a couple lbs depending on weather Temps.
In South Florida that is not often or much.
Though I had all the ID#s for the four new DENSO TPMS Sensors installed 12/2019, the one time I had the warning reset only worked for maybe a month.
Bought the new improved Guage, no problems.

Yes, sorry, my mistake. Mine is a 2015 Tundra, and I know it does not have a TPMS in the spare, and I "think" that series from 07-22 don't have a spare TPMS, but I am not positive about that. I only know my 15 does not have one from the factory.
