Tech12volts is an excuse filled crook - tech12volt REVIEW

Hello All,

I haven't been on this site since last summer. As I sit here back in Afghanistan for the 4th time (5 times in Iraq), I am scrolling through looking for some ideas for the Tundra CC LTD 4x4 that I will be purchasing when I get back home as a replacement to the Tundra CC LTD 4x4 that I just sold prior to coming out here.

Anyways, while scrolling through, I came across a thread with James Randy Taylor as the hot topic. Well, not he so much as his business practices (or lack thereof).

Here is my saga....James, pay attention to the details; it will help you in the defense of your "good" name and “stellar” reputation.

BLUF: I am out $687.00. Period. Paid in full. No product. No refund.

Why bring it up again after s much time has passed? Well, keep in mind that one of James' MOs is to slow roll with excuses and avoidance. After about a year of the back and forth, I had actually written it off as it was not worth the gas, time, effort and potential jail time to invest in making a house call. But when I saw that he was still in business and up to his old tricks, I couldn't resist. Making sure he doesn't rip anyone else off is my main objective. My refund is suspect knowing the track history.

While in Afghanistan in spring 2010 and a few months prior to my redeployment, I contacted James as a direct result of the rave reviews on this site. I ordered a sub box and two subs that came to $687.00 shipped. After about 9 months and literally 52 emails and a handful of phone calls later, I demanded a full refund. Like a fool I used Wachovia BillPay vice a credit card or other way to protect myself from fraud. But, why would I need to protect myself. I had researched dozens of rave reviews over several months and a couple different sites (Tundra & Titan). What else could I do? It had been nine months. I do not have an issue with quality. I have an issue with thievery. I heard all the excuses, his health, family health, extracurricular activities, employee drama, it was made, it was shipped, here is a tracking number, UPS/FEDEX is messed up, can't get the subs, problems with a supplier, on and on, week after week. Months turned into years. The very bottom line James is there is zero, none, no defense. You stole $687.00 from me. Period. No excuses. $687.00. If I had a dollar for every excuse, deference, delay, denial or flat out lie from you, my purchase would already be refunded.

As I read through the multitude of similar experiences in this thread, while it sickened me, at the same time I found comfort in knowing that I am not the only one. As a matter of fact, I see amazing similarities in the vast business relationships that you have made.

I also see every once in a while someone will pull through and say how quick and responsive you were and how great everything is. James, if you steal from one person in a 100 that is not a 99% success rate....that is stealing from one person. You have fulfilled your promise to just enough folks at just enough of a rate to allow good people to still give you the benefit of the doubt.

If I see you attempt to defend yourself on this thread or this site with your ol' canned response of "I will lose money to make sure you are happy" or "I will do whatever it takes to make this good"....well James here is your chance. I need $687.00 in a money order. If you have lost my address, just email me and I will gladly provide it.

I still have every email to include the bank transaction. If anyone on this board has any questions about integrity, honor or fact checking...I will provide without hesitation.

Go ahead James, make good on the money you took from me 2 years ago, and provide the refund. Your past, present and future customers are watching. If you are a potential customer, under no circumstances make the same mistake I did. Limit your payment up front at all costs and pay with a credit card with fraud protection. Make sure you know your card fraud time limits because he will slow roll you until it has exceeded the time for recourse. Just a friendly tip.

Jason T.

My box and subs took a few months but I was paying in increments of three payments. But he always seemed to answer his emails. I hope this gets resolved 687.00 is a big chunk of change. I'm glad this did not happen to me.
Thank you for your service

C'Mon now... no response?
I think he is consulting with his advisors on how "best" to respond...
T12V You have to address the situation with utmost caution. Make it evident that this was a one time occurrence, amply offer apologies, and at all costs, don't refund the guy his money.. but offer him other items that your company sells... :cursin::cursin:
cuz we all know thats how it'll go down...

I ordered my Dbl Cab enclosure a month ago and I keep getting excuses for why its not shipping. I guess I should have researched more before ordering.

I built headlights for some side money past 2 years and then I got overly busy with work and school and had to stop but before I stopped building I built a set for someone that had a major seal problem and I couldn't fix it in a timely manner, I gave him back the 200 plus his stock headlights. I didn't make excuses, and I didn't screw around as soon as I got the paycheck I immediately gave him his money back. I am not a business, I was a student building them out of my apartment closet.... and I still refunded the guy. I barely even knew him, he found me on craigslist. I could of easily ran off with the money, he didn't know where I lived and didn't even know my cell phone number. I built a bad product and I refunded the full amount, I would hope an actual business would do the same.
