I'm sure most of you know about the accident Tech12Volts had on the 4-wheeler a couple months ago... Well, that accident took it's toll in many ways, as you may well imagine.

Times are difficult and the wheels seem to have come right off the bus...

He's going to be out of the loop for a bit. To those who are waiting for sub boxes or products from him, I would ask you to please be patient. He will be in touch next week to discuss your options.

At this point, he needs our support more than criticism and bad attitudes. So please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers. If you have positive interactions with Tech to post here, that would go a long way to helping in the recovery. Thanks!

Sometimes when you are laid up and physically unable to do what you used to be able to do, there are circumstances you can't change or affect as you normally would. Eventually, this works on your emotional and mental state and things snowball. Stopping that snowball can be a difficult thing. The snowball can be stopped, but it takes time... and it takes time to clean up the mess that has ensued.

Just asking for some time for Tech to get his head together and get things back on course. As mentioned, he will be in touch next week to go over options with those who have been waiting for merchandise.

No need for excuses for his emotional or mental state. I guess if I had tons of people questioning my skills or work ethic, etc... I'd probably have a guilty conscious and feel bad too, but if I were in his shoes I'd be in the garage or shop or whatever 20 hours a day building the crap out of the boxes that were bought and paid for by hard working people. If he can start getting people their stuff as promised he wouldn't have a problem. He has their money, there's no excuses good enough not to get a whole refund or their product they ordered.

Edit: I don't have a dog in the race, but I'm certainly glad I didn't end up ordering. I can't stand delay's and excuses. I understand the accident layed him up, but he could've issued a refund and an email stating his apology and issue. People work for their money and got nothing.

This is awfully vague. I am assuming you've been in contact in some way, so what's the problem? I know it's not really anybody's business, but when you use personal issues as an excuse for stiffing people on money or product I think those folks are owed something better than "the wheels have come off the bus".

The guy has a wife that has, in the past, handled some of his business affairs. What's so hard about sending out an email to his customers instructing them to be patient, wait for a refund, or just F off altogether? I know life can beat you up sometimes, but how long can it take to type it up a boilerplate letter and hit send to all the customers with pending business? Sorry to sound insensitive, but you can't just piss on your responsibilities and expect people to roll with it.

Didn't AQ Hunter already ask for a refund? Didn't Tech12Volt already "claim" he was mailing him a refund? Now he has to wait another week for Tech12volt to "get in touch with him again" and then he can "opt for a refund" (Again)

This dudes business practices lack serious integrity.

It's really not that hard, anyone can do it.
You make a product, take payment for a product and then deliver the product.

No stirring the pot from me... I just hate seeing people getting ripped off out of their money. Instead of taking a couple weeks off... suck it up, don't take anymore orders and get out there and build, build, and build until you've got caught up.

Blackbeauty you sound like a close friend to him... you offered to help get him straightened out? If it were my friend I'd be over in all my spare time to help a troubled buddy.

I honestly hate to see anyone in distress over work, financials or whatever, and I'll pray for him and his family. It's a shame because it looked like nice products he was offering for us. It's just his business ethics that needed work.

Quick story...

My family has always owned a cabinet shop. My Dad (retired now) was a police officer by day and cabinet builder by night. A few years back he was routing a countertop to finish out this ladys kitchen remodel. He got something jammed in the router bit and was trying to get it out but forgot to unplug the router and cut both palms of his hands severly. He wandered in the house bleeding everywhere and my mom took him to the ER for 22 stitches.

The next day my Dad was back in the shop finishing this ladys countertop with his hands wrapped in guaze and gloved up and in a lot of pain. Why? BECAUSE HE PROMISED HER IT WOULD BE DONE! He could have explained that he had 22 stitches in his hands and pushed her off a few weeks but his cabinet shop works on word of mouth, and he never wanted to do anything to destroy that reputation.

Fast forward to this last April. I do freelance web work outside of my day job as a senior UX designer for a big financial company. I had to relocate for work in the middle of this project I was doing for a doctors office in missouri. We moved into our new house here in Texas and had zero furniture, literally not even a single chair - we were sleeping on a blow up air matress until the semi truck arrived from missouri with all our stuff. But I had promised this doctors office their new website would go live at the end of the week when they needed it. So I STOOD at the bar in the kitchen of our empty house writing code till 3am every night for a week, while getting up at 6am everyday to get to my new job... Why? BECAUSE I PROMISED THEM IT WOULD BE DONE. And it got done.

Tech12Volt needs a lesson in accountability and intergrity. He needs to learn that "doing what you say you are going to do" is one of the single most important traits a person can have. I feel bad for AQ Hunter and anyone else this guy has screwed over.

It doesn't take 2 hours (maybe 3 max) to build a box that you know like the back of your hand. My builder had mine done in 2 hours and never had built one for a Tundra. I'd put his quality of work up there with anyone that builds them professionally.

Yes, we are good friends. Unfortunately I live 900 miles away. If I were anywhere near his shop, there's no question where I'd be spending my evenings. I met Tech when I drove to his shop prior to a meet in Florida back in 2008. We were to meet in 2007 but personal difficulties with my lady at that time preempted our install. During the year between my planned install and the actual install, he constantly tweaked the parameters of the installation components from a "decent sound system" to a "world class unbelievable sound system". I witnessed firsthand the integrity and personal sacrifice he put into everything he does.

Over the years, I have gotten to know him and his family, and have subsequently visited them, receiving the same open arms and generosity witnessed prior. He and his family are people that I am proud and honored to know and call my friends.

I'm not here to make excuses for recent issues. You've all heard them. I'm just trying to extend his wishes to those who still have pending services/products undelivered. I know how you all feel and I would likely feel similarly in a similar situation if I didn't know him like I do.

He knows he has some folks to answer to. This isn't about excuses or expectations. All I'm asking is for your patience while he puts things back together and is able to make things right. That's the heart and soul of it.
