If it's just the clear wet sand with 2000 grit to smooth it out then use compound and a polish. If you need paint automotivetouchup.com they mix it when you order it. I have used them several times and has always been a perfect match.
If the scratch catches your nail when you pull it across the scratch, then you're probably screwed...it's likely through the clear coat. Touch-up paint or panel repaint will be required to fix it.
If not, then you could start with finish sanding (1000/1500/2000 grit), then polish it out with 3M 05973 Rubbing Compound, then fine polish (glaze), then wax or sealant. OR...It may be shallow enough to simply buff out with only the rubbing compound. There's no way for us to make that determination long distance from that crap photo; either you or a detailing specialist have to make the call onsite.
It appears to be on a Cement. Which I believe is a single coat process, like the 202 black, and white.
Before getting too aggressive, I would simply try rubbing compound, followed by a polish.
I had a scratch that looked about the same after having my remote start installed, I rubbed it by hand, polished by hand, and it went away. I do have Mag Grey though, which is a 2 step color/clear, not a one step process.
If it is a Cement, I think it will be a pretty forgiving color to scratch repairs. As long as you don't go completely through the base coat.
I am amazed; I had no idea single stage paint was still being used in any color by any manufacturer. :doh:
You are correct...the least aggressive first step on single stage paint would be to simply try to buff it out with compound, polish, then wax/sealant. If the scratch is very deep, then finish sanding could be done to blend the scratch by carefully sanding the surrounding area with 1000/1500/2000 grit paper, but that's something maybe better left to a professional detailer.
