New here, picked up another 1st gen 4.7 the other day. Previous owner claims he replaces the starter and accidentally crossed the wires blowing the relay. " A new relay switch is all you need"... Unfortunately that's not the case. The truck starts just fine when you bridge a wire from the + terminal to the relay socket area ( not sure how to describe that idk). But I've tried two different relay switches and it won't start. Ruled out the battery and the starter, as it starts just fine from the wire, other fuses look good too, totally stumped. Could it be the ignition switch? Anyway thanks for any help!
