Some deep leather cleaning today.

Finally got around to properly cleaning my leather seats. I've been skimming over them for about a year with light cleaning, but today was a deep clean day.

I've been talking about Einszettes Plastic Deep Cleaner here for awhile, so I thought I'd show you guys how great it works. It cleans plastic beautifully, but a lot of people never think to use it on leather.

Products:

Griots 3" DA
Über interior DA brush
Einszettes Plastic Deep Cleaner
Einszettes Lederpflege - leather care

For best contrast, I taped the seat down the center, and sprayed PDC on the right side and allowed it to work in for a minute or two.

The seat half was then scrubbed with my Griots 3" DA and the Über interior brush, DA on 2.

After just one pass:

The second half was finished up and the seat was treated with Einszettes Lederflege and a foam applicator. And this is the result, nice and clean and softness restored:

Looks great, just not too sure about spending $20 on a brush. I've seen in a recent post that Mike Phillips uses that same brush to clean tires too.
It's a great brush and I use the heck out of it. I use it on my little Griots for cleaning carpet too. It's well worth $20.
So, just for the heck of it...What would those of us with perforated (i.e. ventilated) leather seats do? Same thing?

Also, I see the ashtray...Are you an in-vehicle smoker? The difference between the taped off sides is pretty stark.

Thanks!
Holy cow!

No way! Not a smoker and no smoking in my truck. That ashtray came with my truck and is my coin holder.

My wife's Acura has the perforated seats and I clean them the same way.
Wow, what a difference!

Wow...Now I'm really surprised at that difference. That's friggin amazing. Great job!
Mark...you are a professional landscaper, right? You use your truck? If yes, I bet your seats get nasty quick.

Nice thread.

Thanks!

Yes, but I make the guys sit on towels. I have the Toyota seat towels that they sell at the dealer. The towels make a big difference, but the seats still get dirty by the end of the week. I'm pretty obsessive about keeping the rig clean for appearances sake, so they do their best to help me keep it looking nice.
