Sitting level with a lift kit?

I have noticed that with most lifts like rc6, pro comp and bds7 that it seems like the rear end sits lower and the nose of the truck angles up in the air, why is that? If I do a lift I would prefer my truck sit level or maybe the back sit a little higher.
