Hi..2017 Toyota tundra,43lmikes.5.7engine. Start tough in cold weather, like sn old car with a rough choke. Lasts bout 5 seconds then kicks in n roars like a lion. Some blueish white smoke,only lasts a few seconds.mechanic said battery read bad n put a new one in....did same thing day after I got it bk with new battery...help?? Thnks!

Sounds like it's too rich and I'm guessing yours is FlexFuel. I had the problem a couple years back and Toyota flashed the ECM under warranty to fix it but I've heard folks having luck removing the battery for 30 minutes or more to reset it.

I just had a very similar problem with my flex fuel Tundra of the same year. I was told by a service manager the fuel pump is defective and doesn’t communicate with the computer to adjust the fuel density. I don’t know if this issue is same without the flex fuel, but the description of your rough start was exactly what I was experiencing.
