As of 07/04/15, projector retro-fit complete!!

So after having my truck for over a month now, I figured it was time to start a build log. I traded in my 2007 Tacoma for the Tundra and couldn't be happier.

The truck is a 2014 DoubleCab SR5 w/ TRD Package and Bed Rails/Sill Protectors/All Weather Mats.

As of 07/07/15, my list of current mods are:

* Dynomax Bullet/Magnaflow Y-Pipe w/ Tailpipe cut after axle
* N-Fab Cab Length Nerfs
* Weathertech DigitalFit Floor Liners Front & Rear
* AVS In-Channel Vent Visors
* 35% Front Tint
* TRD Drop-In Air Filter
* Platinum Color-Matched Grill w/Black Center

* G-Tek Fab Stock Air Box Mod
* Brushed Steel Wrapped Cupholder/Shifter Surround
* Black TUNDRA Tailgate Insert
* Tinted Tails and 3rd Brake Light
* Color-Matched Front Door Handles/Grill Emblem
* Cooper Discoverer S/T MAXX 295/70/18 on Raceline Assault (Black) 18x9s

* Color-Matched Door Edge Guards
* Platinum Power Fold/Auto-dim mirrors w/Color-Matched Mirror Caps
* Morimoto MiniD2S Projector Retrofit w/ XSB/XB LEDs, 5500K bulbs

Now for the meat and potatoes .. the PICS!

Here it is the day I brought it home (wife was not as happy as I had thought, but she has come to like the truck) :):

First set of mods was Magnaflow w/ cut tail pipe and 3"/1" lift:

Then came the N-Fab nerfs:

Then, I got the 35% Front Tint done, and the color matched grill. I first tried with SR5 insert before I finished painting the Platinum insert:

Next came the Black Headlight Mod (Pain in the ASS) and the Platinum Grill insert painted with Rustoleum 2x Matte Black:

And then I did some Plasti-Dipping .. TUNDRA Badges and Front and Rear Bumpers:

Interior LEDs:

G-Tek SABM (Stock Air Box Mod):

Update 4/23/14:
Ultra Guage Mounted above rear view mirror:

Update 4/26/14:
Tinted Taillights and Third Brake light using Rustoleum Tint Spray/Acrylic Lacquer clear:

Update 5/1/14:
Re-did the cupholder surround and added the shifter surround with 3M Brushed Steel wrap instead of Brushed Aluminum. Much closer match to stereo surround.

Update 5/25/14:
Finished the debadge (TUNDRA was plasti-dipped) and also shots of the B-pillar vinyl removed.

Update 06/21/14:
Installed Raceline Assault 18x9 +25 wheels wrapped with Cooper Discoverer ATP 275/65R18 tires. Also pics of the color matched door handles and grill emblem.

Update 9/29/14:
Dynomax Bullet/Magnaflow Y-Pipe Install

Update 11/09/14:
Audio Install

Update 03/30/15:
Cooper S/T Maxx 295/70/18, power fold mirrors

I will continue to update with pics as I get things done. Comments/Suggestions are always welcomed! Hope you like it so far!

It's not easy, but in the end it was worth it for me. I am 100% satisfied, but it takes a lot of time and guts to even do it lol.
Did the Cupholder Chrome Surround with 3M Brushed Aluminum vinyl wrap. Added some pictures to the OP along with interior LED pics and G-Tek SABM.

Yea I have performed this on many many cars, but not sure if I want to try on my new Tundra... :rolleyes:

Agreed. I had done 20+ sets of Tacoma lights, but these were the first set since the first Tacoma ones that I did that were actually intimidating.
Will the cut tailpipe still pass state inspection? Or the crimp effect performance? I do dig the clean lines. Good stuff.

Yes. In MA, the tailpipe has to exit to the rear of the cab. This is far beyond that. My Tacoma had a turndown before the axle and that was fine as well.

I wouldn't really call it a crimp, but more of a 'cross cut' just to allow the pipe to seal onto the muffler completely. The piping itself was not changed .. just the muffler.

Thanks for the comments!

Tinted Taillights ..

So Friday I used Rustoleum Tint Spray and then Acrylic Lacquer clear to do my taillights. I masked the brake, turn, and reverse lights (There are some lines on the lens to easily follow) and sprayed a base coat of tint, then removed the mask, and did two more coats so that the areas where the light would shine through weren't as dark. I then sprayed about 5 coats of clear on the lights and let them dry for a couple of hours. I still have to wet sand/polish them, but they look pretty good. Up close fine tooth comb inspection shows some imperfections, but they look good to me.

The reverse lights are now pretty much worthless, but should be decent again once I add either LEDs or do the halogen 886 mod, and while the light output is definitely reduced for the brake/turn, it is still very visible in the day light. Night time output is unmistakably visible, and still may upgrade to LEDs on the rear to get some more brightness as well. Onto the pics!
