Repairing a broken off antenna

I recently made the mistake of going through a car wash with my 2010 tundra (only 72k miles-I bought new, but don’t drive long distance) and my antenna was snapped off at the top of the copper fitting on the base of the antenna. The problem in putting on a new antenna was that the screw that had been at the base of the damaged broken antenna was still inside the sleeve where I needed to screw the new antenna to.

Others on this and other sites described an arduous repair process that included removing the fender. my Thought was to cut the very top (1/4” max) off the copper fitting where tge broken screw was so I could grab a 1/4” of the broken screw once exposed. Just the copper part.., not cut tge broken screw. I got a dremmel tool and because of space issues attached a rasp with the idea of grinding off the top of the copper fitting. To my surprise the vibration from the rasp actually backed off and out the broken screw!! So, maybe it won’t work for you as it did me, but I’m offering my solution as a possible alternative to disassembling your Tundra. I’ll take a couple pictures tomorrow if what I’m talking about in terms of the copper fitting where the broken screw was.
Same thing. Ordered new base and antenna off of Amazon and replaced.
