Really, procomp says you have to use 20" wheels... And 4wheelparts.com has 300 off instantly any pro comp lift over 1299

They know that to fit 35s with a 4 inch lift you need a lot of back spacing to not rub. To run any back spacing on that lift it takes a 20 inch wheel to clear the tie rod ends. You might. Be able to fit a smaller wheel with little to no backspacing but then the 35 will likely rub everywhere

Check out the Zone 5". There are lots of threads on it. I knew I was going to put it on this truck before the truck itself was picked out. Lots of good reviews. It's the same lift as the BDS 4.5" (sister company) without a skid plate. It's pretty comparable in size to the PC 4" and retails for $1299. If you ever decide to go bigger another $220 in parts and you have a 7" lift. Metalmiller is probably going to start making custom skid plates for it also.

Don't really know about their quality but the Rough Country 4.5" is a trim not a cut and they say you can run the factory 18 on it

I have the procomp 4" lift and like it. It came already installed, so I didn't have much choice, but I like the fact that it goes on without any cutting. I only have 2k on the truck, but so far I haven't found any problems

Are you running 35's? I'm having a hell of a time with my 4" pro comp. It's been in the shop for 6 weeks and Toyota can't get it right. First the Driver side was 1.75 inches lower then the passenger side. Next they made adjustments and it rubber terribly. Now I'm stuck in the middle trying to figure out what to do. Now their trying to tell me that 35's will rub all the time with that lift. Not a happy customer right now.

I just got my procomp 6 inch.1650 with pro series rear shocks shipped to my door.Nice kit.The newer versions come with updated spindles and tie rod ends with a weld in stearing stop.First thing is to paint the spindles the tie rod ends and the add a leaf.THEY WILL RUST.But the rest of the lifts finish looks good. The drop brackets have nuts welded in both front and back for a skid plate.I am going to go down to the metal fab shop and have them make a 3/8s inch skid and powder coat it.Bolt that thing up should lock it togeather pretty good.Nice and simple kit easy install.Half to cut just enouph for drive shaft to clear 6 inches then the rest is bolted and part of the rear drop bracket which adds streangth.7 inches is max lift cv angles on the boarder of to much but still should be good for at least 80 thousand mls before replacing boots if you maintaine them.

Same crap they said in 08 when I bought their 6" lift. Their backspacing requirements were off too. Their customer service sucks. They usually forget to include all the parts that are required. Their parts will look five years old after a year. Their customer service sucks. They're owned by 4 wheel parts. They suck too. 4 wheel parts and PC are over priced. And last but not least, their customer service sucks.

Well update for my lift. I have 18k on it and just had a front coil pop part of the way off the top mount, snapping the shock. I drive a dirt road almost daily, but take it at a easy 35mph and avoid the worst patches.

I hadn't driven the truck since Thursday. When I left the house I told my wife that something just did not feel right. I couldn't say exactly what though. We were leaving town and I felt something pop and the steering started to bind up with any turn of the wheel. I eased into a parking lot, looked under and the coil was bowed out towards the wheel, barely on the mount, the shock was broken and there was fluid sprayed everywhere. Called the tow truck and he took the truck to the shop. They were just closing, so I will find out Monday what the damage is.

Just heard back from the service department. Bent coil and the strut was broken at the midpoint. Not sure what caused this, I have done 0 off-roading. Not sure if this is more a mark against procomp, or that Toyota struts just suck?

Was this a Bilstein TRD shock (yellow)? Do you have a picture? There have been quite a few failures of Bilstein shocks. Most of them fail at the lower stem or on the 5100's at the snap ring.

It wasn't the TRD shocks, just the base model ones. I didn't get any pictures because it was getting on to sunset, but it broke almost in the middle, not at the ends.

The dealer that it was towed to tried to deny the warranty claim because of the dealer installed lift. Fortunately for me, I the installing service dept is awesome and the manager convinced the other dealer to cover it.

Anyone in SoCal, Toyota of Escondido has the best service dept I have ever worked with. Dealt with them a few times in the last few years for different vehicles and they go above and beyond.
