Hi Guys,

I'm new.
Has there been any complaints about the gas mileage with the 4.7 liter? I have a 07 DBL cab that is getting less than 11 mpg city. I was hoping for better. It has about 5600 miles on it. We have a hybrid travel trailer that weighs about 4200lbs. At highway speeds we get less than 6 mpg.
Is it possible there is something wrong? Anyone else with similar problems?

Thanks,
Brian

You probably should have got the 5.7 liter. You see the 4.7 has to work "harder" to pull the same weight. Thus, that would explain your less than stellar mpg.

Oh, and the 6 speed transmission with the 5.7 helps, too.

I agree, I should have gone with the 5.7. I realized that a couple of days after the purchase. My dealer was less than sympathetic, and here I am.

I made the mistake of taking the dealers advice. The tow rating on the 2WD DBL cab is 8,100 Lbs. Should be lots of truck, but it struggles. I am really dissappointed. Looking back on it now I know they only had 4.7's on the lot when I purchased. I think its a case of pushing whats on the lot not what is best for the customer.
