If they haven't increased the fuel tank size I will be getting a 2013 (saving a bunch of $$$) and purchasing the 46 gallon after-market tank. I should be able to do all of the other mods I want for the same $$$$ as buying a 2014 with no mods by waiting until they try and pawn off all of the 2013's.
Then a Supercharger should be on your 2013 list :D

Have they talked about the drive train yet? Or showed under the hood? I don't know, i'm not really following it...

Is it possible they are playing games, and could possibly announce in several months that "hey, we also have a diesel package truck!" :dunno:
Maybe. Icom does that with HAM gear all the time: i706, i706mk, i706mkII, i706mkII-g.

The first buyers are "beta-testers"...

Wow, really? Interior improvements are great, but I don't see this chop shop tundra staying around anything past 2-3 years. Then we will see the real next Gen Tundra. I can't believe the cab is the exact same. Will probably look pretty bad ass with some 35 + tires and a large lift, but so does every other lifted truck. On a positive note, at least our love for 2nd Gens won't waiver. Wow and these are the Platinum and Limited models too. Wonder what they are stripping out of the SR5 model?

What a disappointment I'm happy to keep my '08 with less than 50K on it.

I would have like to have seen some engine options for better mileage (let's be honest and realize that most Tundras are sold to city folks who only drive on the highway) a larger fuel tank (300 miles on one tank almost cost me driving across I-70 in Utah a couple of weeks ago) and an adjustable suspension system.

The best exterior cosmetic change seems to be imprinting "TUNDRA" on the tailgate and leaving it color on color.

What a swing and a miss on this one. These guys have easy access to great consumer feedback with these forums and they completely ignore it to their own demise.

Maybe they will sell just the tailgate as an aftermarket part and then I can pretty much have the only thing that was appealing on the '14 version....

Too bad, but think of how much money they just saved current Tundra owners!

i dig the exterior, but not a fan of the ford-like interior, the interior was a major factor on why i DIDN'T buy the ford last january, i love the new body lines, but unless the painted grill looks much better i'm not a fan of the chrome, the rear end looks great, the 07-12 tundra has such a plain rear end of the vehicle that its boring, the new tailgate & lines along the rear look much better & i'm sure its got some aerodynamic advantages

They said all grades were getting the lcd so I believe the gauges will be the same for all.
I believe it was during the panel discussion that I heard this.

Edit: I see the tranny temp gauge has disappeared.

It looks like a larger Honda Ridgeline.
Thank you! I thought I was the only one seeing the Ridgeline look in the front.

The front grille is hideous, the new bed is ok. Haven't been able to see the interio pics but overall I am glad I just bought my new second generation as opposed to waiting for the 2014.
The interior screams Ford from every angle, dunno why a manufacturer like Toyota can not come up with their own design as opposed to copying an existing one.
De-badgers will have fun trying to hide that huge embossed "tundra" from the tailgate lol

As I said earlier in the main thread, total fail by Toyota.

2006 engine technology in a new "redesigned" Tundra? FAIL

Grille and headlights & taillights? FAIL

Blatant F-150 interior copy? FAIL

From a Toyota Truck fanboy to the core, I strongly dislike this "redesign" and am extremely dissapointed by the lazy Toyota engineers who refused to listen to people like us on the shortcomings of our still great trucks. Toyota is now dead last in half-ton truck innovations, to the point of embarassment. It's 2013, not 2006.

My thoughts exactly.

I like the tails, and the body lines of the bed, the grille looks huge like the Fords have now which I don't like. You'd think they would listen to consumers like us more, and provide more bed/cab options, and worry less about appearance changes. I don't like it from pictures, but I'll definitely check it out in person.

I see the check engine light is on, looks like they did not fix the air injection pump issue...

Just kidding of course! I think I'll be keeping my 2012 for a while but when the first one gets to our dealership I will take a closer look.

I can understand the cab staying the same. Ford's F250/F350 has had the same cab since 1999. Its exactly the same. They update the interior every 3-4 years but it saves them money by not doing a new cab.

Im not feeling the new one yet. Guess I will have to wait and see what engine changes there are and see it in person, but as of right now it is a no-go in my book.

There are way more kind of's on here than I thought there would be when I started the poll. I figured there would be more no's. I kinda like it, and its growing on me the more I look at it bu i think one of the reasons I like it is because it is new and everyone wants to have the latest and newest etc. The interior is the best part of the 2014

TUNDRA will prob get a mid cycle engine upgrade kinda what Ford went from the 5.4 to the ecoboost on the same model truck.
