Offical TechStream software thread( settings and such)UPDATED 1-31-2015

I updated my OP today 1/31/15

I have TechStream installed on 2 Pc's windows 8 or 7 non pro 64 bit. Im using cable MINI-VCI J2534 (Bought this when I originally posted this thread/Post in 06-26-2012

here is the work around link for windows 7/8 64 bit I did not update the firmware on the cable. I would leave yours alone.

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1920724

Follow the Directions to a T and it works! big thanks to mendonsy and Robert_W and others.

Software Download link for TechStream version toyota-techstream-v9.30.002
https://www.dropbox.com/s/gl6r90tvw8uuee7/toyota-techstream-v9.30.002.zip?dl=0

Here are the 64 Bit drivers

https://www.dropbox.com/s/029qetxp67kg70z/Toyota Techstream V9.30.002.exe?dl=0

I did not intall or click on the Video guide(for 64bit)

Your antivirus software might come on and detect a trugan horse. I disabled it before I began. No problems that I can see by doing this. Do so at your own risk. :nerd:

this seller has the cable and software

You're familiar with the definition of insanity? :p

I've tried numerous times, and it's not connecting.

As far as I know, there's three possible issues... (1) the cable is bad (2) there's a problem with my truck (3) there are driver related issues. After having installed the software and drivers numerous times, including after a Windows recovery (fresh-reinstall), I'm fairly convinced the drivers are not to blame. However, I'm not ruling it out completely.

Hence my question, is there any trouble-shooting one can do to determine if the cable is at fault?... Or is there some way to determine the drivers are not installed correctly? And short of finding a new truck, is there any way to know if your truck is the problem?
i suggest you to please check post #2,080 it explains about the drivers and how to confirms if the cable is detected
what year is truck?

also if everything is failing for u, u can always always install vmware that i have included on the post #2,084

you can use this v14.30.023 techstream setup file comes with keygen: (good for vehicles upto 2019) Techstream v14.30.023 WITH KEYGEN.zip
In a demonstration of my insanity, I reinstalled everything on a fresh install of Windows 10 and I'm having the same issue... any idea what's wrong?
area of confusion, based off screenshot u had uploaded on here shows that techstream was up? ruggb said he could not run the program can you suggest ruggb what to do so that he can run the program? or both of u guys got the same problem?

Thanks... I did that this afternoon... installed the VMware image with the v12 Techstream that was posted above and again, I got nothing when I connected the cable. I think my cable is dead. Nothing is detected when the cable is connected... no drivers install. I installed the drivers using the setup utility and ran FrimwareUpdateTool in Win XP and it could not find the cable either.

Unfortunately, as you can imagine, support for these things is horrible. I will probably have to buy another one.

It would be ideal if there was a way in Win 10 to determine if the cable and drivers are installed and communication with it is working. It seems to be an all-or-nothing affair with no one really understanding what's going on, so if it doesn't work, it's just start over... hence the insanity. :) I was hoping someone here actually had a deeper understanding of what's going on but alas, it remains a black box.

whenever u get chance check #2,080 it explains what happens when u unplug the cable from the computer at device manager. that confirms if ur cable is up and running or its not

for windows 8 users and above can go to device manager and under "universal serial bus connector" open the drop down menu and have the cable connected to your pc and you should see "USB SERIAL CONVERTER" that confirms that your cable drivers were configured correctly. and when you unplug the cable the usb serial converter will disappear

Ok.. In Windows 10, I get nothing showing up in Device Manager. Definitely buying another cable! Thanks!

Cant predict much but did you do the basics? Did u try to install v16.00.020 before reporting the issue? as you got the older version than what we have provided here on post #2,604 try installing that instead. Also first uninstall you 0.17 using revo installer clean everything. Revo uninstaller pro is also provided on post #2604

Yeah, all the basics, instead of doing a clean uninstall I ran the newer file and it asked if I wanted to upgrade my current version, which I did , everything works fine except I have no option for driver side seat belt chime or the tap to turn signal options 🤷🏻‍♀️

Weird that when you uninstall and install new setup file it asking you to upgrade? You sure you uninstalled the old version using revo as i had suggested to do?
Since you got 07 year vehicle can you try to run older version techstream (version 11) that is provided it includes keygen'too. (Of course uninstall the current version) NEVER UPGRADE its like you just carrying over'setup file thus explains why you havin same problem because you did not uninstall instead you just ran the new version setup file

Of course use revo uninstaller and make sure that indeed software is uninstalled before installing new version.

As undeR any install you should never get a prompt for upgrade unless you never uninstall the software first.

With techstream you should always use revo uninstaller to totally remove the software than restart pc and than install the other setup file

I’ve tried both versions, both have the same options but maybe my year 07 doesn’t support the driver side seat belt home removal
PLEASE DO NOT ASK FOR KEYS AS TECHSTREAM V14 COVERS CARS UPTO 2019 AND MOST OF US GOT CARS OLDER THAN THAT!

(LETS BE HONEST MOST OF US GOT CARS OLDERS THAN YEAR 2016 AND V11 AND ITS KEYGEN IS INCLUDED TOO THERE IS NO POINT OF HAVING NEWER VERSIONS IF YOU HAVE OLDERS CARS)

i suggest using revo uninstaller to remove your previous installation as the program will help u to remove everything related to the program you are uninstalling here is the portable versison click>>>>>> Revo Uninstaller Pro.zip file also uploaded on MEGA: 24.31 MB file on MEGA

THIS INFO BELLOW IS ALL YOU NEED TO RUN YOUR TECHSTREAM FOR FREE!

There is V16.00.020 no keys needs all you need is install the exe file and than paste the loader (patch) to the installed directory and than run the pasted loader or you can right click and send it to your desktop as shortcut and run it. here is the MEGA link CLICK>>>>231.87 MB file on MEGA

thanks tdi for all this information. i'm new to toyota's and techstream. i have version 11 installed and i believe my cable is working connecting.

my problem is that techstream prompts to update and it won't let me past. is there a work around for this?
