yes works great on windows 10 remember techstream is never issue the issue is the drivers of the cable!! if you are familiar with windows, try to see the folder techstream gets installed to on a 64 bit computer, u will see its under x86 program files, that shows that techstream always runs on 32bit

Guys-

I stayed up all night thinking about how to make this easy on everyone so ended up coming with an idea of virtual machine.

What is a virtual machine?

A virtual machine is a computer file, typically called an image, that behaves like an actual computer. In other words, creating a computer within a computer. It runs in a window, much like any other program, giving the end user the same experience on a virtual machine as they would have on the host operating system itself.

So I found VMWARE as our software to create the virtual machine and later on that night I was able to find windows XP 32bit and tried installing xp in the vmware and turns out to work great, so with that being said I combined AGAIN all the files including vmware, winxp, techstream and its drivers as well

I installed winxp on vmware turned out very well to an extent that when I connected the mvci cable it auto installed the drivers I did not even have to manually install the drivers not sure how it happen it could have happened because at that time my winxp virtual machine had already access to the internet. And might have downloaded the drivers itself

Here is the video someone installing xp in vmware (
) video is old but almost same concept please do check the instruction txt I have included in the notes I have made this very easy for everyone

Below is the link of the file 1.24gb

as usual please dont forget to block vmware to access the internet using windows firewall block these two files both inbound and outbound rules
ProgramFiles(x86)\VMware\VMware Workstation\vmware.exe
ProgramFiles(x86)\VMware\VMware Workstation\vmUpdateLauncher.exe

also when winxp is installed on vmware, u can easily drag files from your host computer to winxp (all them techstream files)

file includes:

Techstream v11 (good for the cars/trucks manufactured upto 08/2016)

Techstream keygen

VMware

VMware keygen (I have extracted about 10 keys in notepad)

Windows xp sp3 iso

32bit and 64-bit drivers for MVCI cable

software for checking your cable version.

Please do check the instruction included in the download and installation will be a breeze I have also included screenshot of vmmachine to make it configured right so that usb devices are detected these pictures will make more sense of what I am trying to say
Hi tdi200,

I have both the older cable and the new 2.0 MiniVCI cable.
The seller from Taobao was not able to get the MiniVCI cable to work with my Lenovo laptops.
I do have an older Toshiba and a 1st Gen Surface Pro that I have successfully installed up to v12 with the old cable.
But the problem I am having is getting the Active test to work with old cable.
I have a USDM 1999 Lexus GS300.

Would this v11 allow for Active test to work with old cable and/or new 2.0 cable?
Is the driver included with the 1.2gb file for the new 2.0 cable?
Thanks

FIRST THING FIRST!! MAKE SURE YOUR ANTIVIRUS IS OFF or else it will trigger false positive

99.9% of the Reason why active test dont work is because the techstream version is patched, unlike the one in mega link provided its untouched version so install that one and use keygen (also provided in the mega link) for techstream to register the program

if you have v2,0 cable i suggest using version 2.0 first and see the outcome as the cable drivers provided in the link which says drivers for 64bit works perfectly in the 32bit as well so u can install that driver folder

and yes 1.2gb includes everything you will ever need to run techstream this a bullet proof version because i also included vmware and active test will work and after successfully installing the drivers and techstream v11 u will have freedom of trying different version of cables v1 vs v2 and see if you get the errors while doing active test

and also u dont need to install techstream on older computer i myself and other been using techstream on windows 10 so go ahead download that 1.2gb file and follow instruction and remember to use the 64 bit drivers and you should be fine.

p.s drivers of v1 and v2 of mini vci are the same but please focus on the "64bit drivers" folder in megalink to install the mini vci driver in your lenovo laptop!

report back and if you get issue along the way message me and i will help u out just install teamviewer so that i will be able to connect to your computer!

Ok so here's the result so far.

I installed on the Lenovo the v11 in the Mega link and the 64bit driver installer included.
1. I was able to get the old cable to be recognized and operating. But still unable to get Active Data. This applies to my Lenovo Laptop and my Surface pro.
2. I tried the newer cable but was not able to automatically recognize the vehicle. Once connect to the vehicle by manual selection I cannot access any of the ECU menus. This applies to my Lenovo and my surface pro.

I installed v12.20.024 on the lenovo.
1. I was able to get the old cable to be recognized and operating.
a. I cannot get Active Test to work if I go directly to Multimeter. But! If I go to Body ECU first, go to Active Test, then I can go back to multimeter's Active Test to get functions.
b. I still cannot get newer cable to automatically recognize the vehicle or Connect to ECUs even with manual vehicle selection.

The newer cable is not showing any device driver not being installed.
The firmware update does not work at all on win10 64bit. even in forced compatibility mode.
Photo below are both cables. Left is old / right is new.

Would a different (newer/older) version of Techstream be worth a try?
Any other test to suggest?

Thanks

hello
99gs300tw,
sorry for late reply got really busy at work anyways the information you provided is insufficient for me to picture the problem you are going through

because:
1. you have not mentioned if you had previosuly installed any techstream on your Lenovo before the megalink? if you did, its a must to uninstall that version before installing the v11 from mega link,
p.s use revo uninstaller to uninstall techstream completely

2. you did not provide any info on v12 how u installed it? did u had to put the keys or you replace exe files?

3. you mentioned you installed techstream and 64 bit drivers but did not mentioned if you used the keygen to register the program ?

4. you mentioned v2 cable was not recognize but did u make sure to check VIM option on techstream to select the correct cable?

5. take sometime read previous posts on this forum it was confirmed v11 was able to do active with no issues at all if you still having issues please pm so we can setup a teamviewer and see if i can help u out

6. yes firmware update thing does not work on windows 10 it works great on windows 7 and xp that firmware update tool is just for making sure your cable is detected. also in the megalink vmware is included and windows xp u can install vmware and run xp on it and u will see firmware update tool will work just follow instruction on that mega link to install vmware

V11 was loaded with the mega file version. Used the key gen to registered the program.
v12 was upgraded. Since the key gen did not work for v12.20.024 I used the mainmenu.exe replacement method. However, it did still ask for a registration code and the codes generated from v11 worked as the ID displayed the same.

There was previous attempt to install by the v2 cable supplier.
I did a standard uninstall of the v12.20.024 previous install using windows program manager,
Installed v11 from mega link.
V11 did did not work for Active test on both cables. V2 cable did not work. VIM option on techstream was verified for Mini Vci
Upgrade to v12.20.24, replaced mainmenu.exe in bin directory.
V12 can do active test with old cable if I use Body Ecu Active test first, then go to Mulimeter.

V2 cable still does not work. VIM option on techstream was verified for Mini Vci. User was set to corporate.

Will try Revo.
V11 doesn't seem to work for active test at all. I've tried every ECU in techstream and still displays error (some function unavailable?)
V12 works only if starting at a certain test.

Thanks

never upgrade always use revo to uninstall the program, than restart the pc and install whatever version you got and try to avoiding patching mainmenu.exe specially if you see the keygen supports that particular version v2 version is not working i can guarantee you that its user error issue u might have to update the driver manually check post #2,080

Is there any Meag link of v12 that the key gen can support?
Just tried again after Revo uninstal and it's still doing the same result.
v12. old cable can use Active test.
v12 new cable can not auto detect vehicle, cannot connect to ECU.

Maybe I have a bad v2 cable?

Can you generate key for me?
Maybe old cable would work better for active test.
