If anyone has any other ideas they could pass my way that would be great. I can jump start my tundra. once i turn the truck off i lose all power and it requires a jump to get it going again. i have changed the battery and installed a new alternator. i have checked all fuses as well. any other thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks

If you have a battery charger, remove the cables from the battery, charge the battery to full voltage (~12.6V), confirm the voltage with a multi-meter, then let the battery set un-connected overnight and recheck the voltage the next morning. If the voltage remains at full charge, your problem is somewhere in the terminal connections or the wiring. Clean the terminals well before re-installing the cables.

Sometimes brand new batteries are bad; eliminate that possibility first.

Got it working. Ended up being a bad terminal connection on the ground wire. Thanks everyone for the help. Time and life savers!
Great.

PLEASE keep in mind what OldGuy43 said above. It's shocking how often that happens.

Not enough information.....

My bet is you got a bad battery to start with. If it will run until you cut it off that means the alternator is working. The battery is just not charging.

If you can "jump off" the truck with cables hooked from battery to battery, the cables are good to the vehicle. Yet, they may not be connected well to the battery itself.

when I swap batteries to my other tundra the battery works just fine. So I know it’s not the battery at this point. When the truck is jumped it runs just fine. As soon as you turn the engine off when you go to try and crank it you get nothing. No interior lights, nothing. Fuses are good as well
