So long story short I bought a super clean 2011 toyota tundra trd dc. Anywho within 45 days the rack and pinion went out. I contacted the dealer and other shops and I was quoted between 2500 and 4000 respectively. When i inquired why so much I got answers like you have to pull the engine. Or you have to disassemble the transaxle and half the engine. What I found is you dont have to do any of that. In fact I got money in and out without unbolting anything from the truck other than steering shaft lines, skid plate and mounting bolts. Left the tierods on as well. So after completion I have my 4 hi light blinking constantly. I never unplugged anything. The passenger tire was covered in copious amounts of fluid due to the original issue. Could this fluid saturating my ABS speed sensor cause this or am I chasing a ghost????
