Looks beautiful. Such a tight fit. Great lines, and good color match.

LEAKS LIKE A BEEOTCH!!! Been on for a whole 8 days now, and you may as well throw five-gallon buckets of water in the back!

We’re not talking about a little drizzle coming in near the back glass door. The passenger side carpet beneath the window is soaked. Side window is closed tight...

I know. I’m calling the dealer on Monday. They’ll take care of it. What I’m not looking forward to is the multiple trips that I’m anticipating to finally get it fixed all the way. They’re not likely going to get it right the first time... That’s just my pessimism talking. They’re 45 minutes from home.

Oh, it’ll get fixed. That’s not a concern. Just a little frustrating to spend $3K on a new canopy for a $50K truck, only to have it suck.

If you have the rear scissor out windows, that may be the problem.
I have a Z on my truck. Here's a tip.
If you don't push in on the glass with some force as you tighten the knob, they will leak. Mine do the same thing if i don't.

I get it Chad, as I handed them the card i almost got sick. The last shell I bought was in 2002 and I spent $1200, this time it was $3115.00. I didn't have to add everything I did, but I built it exactly as I wanted it. I think when you spend that kind of money you should not have to press here at this pressure and change on this spot to another pressure. Frustrating as hell! The idea of them taking it off, then they have to send it back, then they have to put it back on, PIA. Good luck my friend, I hope I don't have to go through it.

Yeah, that makes as much sense as having to jiggle the handle on a brand new toilet so it doesn’t flood the bathroom.

It would be totally inappropriate to need to post special instructions on a canopy so that all users can be considered trained...

Thanks for the heads up on how you are able to consider yours “fixed”, but that isn’t going to work for me!

Chad D., even closer than that brother. I left LE in 2006 after 10 years of being on the Police side. I then became a Firefighter, I'm on the job in Chesterfield County Virginia assigned to a truck company. Got 7 years left, then I'm fishing.

I didn't say it makes sense. Just letting you know.
I am not crazy about it either and may not ever buy another ARE product again.
But after 2 years it is what it is.

Go get em.

Wow; this is the first I've heard of problems with the ARE caps. I had a Z-series on my first gen; pic attached. It never leaked, and nobody ever told me I had to do some hokey-pokey dance to get the thing sealed right.

I now have a TW wedge on my 2015. It doesn't leak either.

ARE aren't budget caps; you're right to expect flawless performance straight from the original installation.

Talked to dealer today. They’re picking my truck up at my office Wednesday morning, taking it to their shop, and pulling windows to ensure correct seal is made all around.

Frustrated with the issue, but the local Canopies Plus shop is handling it like a champ! I’ll keep you posted...

Ok. Canopies Plus fella picked my truck up at the office this morning at 7:25. Had it back to me before lunch.

They found the rear door to be the leaky culprit, and made whatever adjustments they felt were appropriate. Side windows did not leak during their squirt testing...

Also, they sealed up a few spots in the bed that Toyota does not make water tight, in hopes of keeping more water intrusion at bay.

Time will tell if this fixes it, as we’re done with rain for at least a little while here in western Oregon... I’m more than happy with the way my local dealer handled the issue, and will keep an eye on the bed for wet spots...

Well, my truck is one year old, and the canopy is 10 months. Let me tell you a quick story...

After SEVEN trips to Canopies Plus for leaks, I finally have a dry bed. Both side windows were replaced, and the rear seal was changed out twice. That’s the very short version.

My frustration doesn’t lie with ARE, as they were great to work with after I finally got fed up with their dealer not correcting the issue. Once the manufacturer got involved (trip #5 for repairs), things went pretty smoothly.

I’d complained about leaks since the first day it rained last year, and they kept trying to adjust or clean seals. Very irritated with the local service I received, but at least my canopy is finally awesome...
