So I got an amp and new sub for my 2010 crewmax with JBL. My problem is its not hitting as hard as I expected and if I turn it up too high it goes crazy. I connected my LOC after the stock amp. Is this my problem? If so where can I hook it up? Please help

Are you sure the gains on the new amp are set properly?

What are the specs on the sub and amp?

I am not too familiar with LOCs but I would think using a pre-amp signal would be best when running it to an aftermarket amp. (this is a guess)

The sub is a kicker compact 4 ohm rated at 200rms.
The amp is a pioneer 1600 watt but only rated for 300 watts rms.

I managed to get power to the sub.(apparently the LOC wasn't grounded well).
But it still isn't a constant level. One minute it will be good, then its like I turned the amp all the way up and the sub is bottoming out.

It's a stinger. It doesn't require power just a ground to eliminate noise is what it says. This is my first time using a LOC so I'm not familiar with them.

So it just gets loud out of no where? or does the bass seem to get MUCH louder than the rest of the system as you turn up the volume?

The later just means the gain is not set correctly.
