Hey guys -

I have an 08 SR5 DC w/ the OEM rims / tires. It's time to change out the rims and I found these online. A number of people sell them as 'Tundra rims' - but I can't seem to place them - they are not the steel rims nor the TRD rims -

Anyone know what model Tundra these came with?

Assume they will work w/ my existing 18" tires - Can I use my existing TPMs?

Thanks!

Yeah - i have the steel rims.. hmmm - now i'm wondering why i got steel rims on my truck unless the SR5 rims are optional and not standard on all SR5s

These look like the ones I have -

Does anyone look for steel rims - not sure if they would even be worth selling. Thanks!

A lot of people like to use those for winter snow tires. They will sell.

Those are actually Tundra Limited ALLOY wheels (optional on SR5). Here is a link to the Toyota site with pictures:

Toyota Tundra Features

Here is a shot of my 2010 SR5 DC with the limited, alloy wheels - - compliments of ebay.

The 18 inch tires on your steel wheels will fit. You will need 20 degree TPMS sensors. The "styled steel wheel" for the Tundra SR5 comes with a 40 degree sensor. Not sure about the standard steel wheel.

You will also need new lugs and center caps.

Yep, they were $1,100 dollar option on my SR5. Didn't notice until after I signed the paper work...damn it!

As mentioned above, I lot of people use the steelies for winter wear.

I used to work with a fellow called "Rat Breath" when I was in the Navy - - any relation?? LOL.

As you have probably found on ebay. The Limited alloy wheels and center caps go for about $300 plus shipping. I paid $140 for four TPMS sensors and install kits. The Lug nuts were about $50. $100 to mount and balance. Haven't had Toyota enter the TPMS ID codes in the computer yet, but I'm expecting another $30-$50 there. Total is about $600 plus shipping ($70 for me). I didn't find Any rims TRD or limited with TPMS sensors included - - and you DON'T want to buy those from the dealer! Better than paying $1100 for the option. Good luck.

Those wheels are more desirable than the styled steel but not by a whole lot. But if you like them, then get them. I'd take a set for mine if I could get them at the right price. You can get bands to move your tpms to them and you won't have to pay to program new ones.

FeExPilot - Thanks for the pics - just what i was looking for (I have the same color SR5)

and thanks for the info on the rims - they look great on your truck.

You have several things I'm looking to get (The running boards, fog lights, and bug shield) - Are all of those items OEM parts?

I was at the dealership getting my new wheels installed and they had sets of these wheels for sale - people replaced them so the wheels were new. The price was right so you might try the local Toyota dealer. Personally I like them and would have jumped on them if I would not have done soooo much to get the wheels ordered.

Rat Dog;
The running boards and fog lights came as accessories on the truck at delivery. I ordered the Toyota bug shield, bed mat, exhaust tip as well as Clazzio leather seat covers from Jamie and Tim at Sparks Toyota in Myrtle Beach - - they are a forum sponser w/ good pricing.
I'm pleased with the rims. I wanted OEM alloys and to be able to use the 18 inch tires that came with the truck. My first choice were the 18 inch TRD rims (seen in the Toyota link I sent earlier), but I couldn't find any new/ take offs at the time. You'll see them available on this forum every once in a while. The "Limited" alloy I ended up with are much more readily available online from outfits that specialize in "new/ take offs" e.g. eBay Store - DIVERSIFIED MARKETING AUTOMOTIVE Auto parts: Wheels, Tires, Wheel Tire
where I got the rims and center caps. The only marks on the wheels came from installation on my end - - they were perfect out of the box. As 67 Roadster said, you might be able to save some $$$ on shipping/ install if your local dealer has some - - mine did not.
