Well, its official. Decided it was time to trade in the 08 for a 2013 model. Struggled a long time trying to decide if waiting for the 2014 was worth it or not but in the long run I think I made the right decision. I am hoping this 2013 will hold its value like the 2008 did. I was able to get into the 2013 for a pretty good deal and they gave me a good deal on my trade in. I guess in the end the 2014's just didn't do enough to make it worth the extra cash.

I'm gonna miss her, she only had 53k miles.

Nice looking truck
I don't understand why so many people trade in a 07-10 for a 12-13... It's the same truck inside and out.
Unless something's broke or tons of miles.
Not trying to ruin your post but just wondering.

The warranty was a big reason. Plus after so many years its nice having something "new". Even though the body is the same basically, I really wanted to start over with the mileage. That's the nice thing about Toyota, they hold there value better than anything else out there. I sold it for 4k less than I paid for it years ago.

Congrats to you!
With a stronger driving rack in a 08, I would have kept it as nice as you modded it.
But different strokes.
I have 67,000 on my 07 and I want to put on another 70,000 in the next 6-7 years.
At that time in the future, I expect something different might be out there. Bumpers will probably be even thinner then what they are now.

I agree with keeping it myself forever. I do think that at some point I'll break down and get a 4wd.
But an older truck is best for someone who understands mechanics. Even if you don't fix it yourself, you need to know what needs to be done and when that whir is a problem.
I got my Lexus from a friend who went out and bought the exact same car, same color even. But he wasn't a mechanic and the repair costs expected would almost equal car payments. I spent maybe 1/10th what he would.
Some guys just like a new blank canvas to "paint".

I like the "Different canvas to paint". That kinda sums it up too. I am looking forward to starting over and changing a few things. My 08 was base and I added the MPG buttons, Nav, and a few other small things thanks to these forums. This time I upgraded to add Bluetooth, leather, sunroof ect. I kept everything off the old truck except the lift and tires.

2010CMTRD, do you like the M1 bumper? Does it feel heavy?

I agree from the finance angle. Unless you have every finance base covered, and that is a long story, why keep upgrading? Your current ride is fine. Not raining on the parade, but, unless paid for in cash, could put that money to better use in the bigger picture.

Different angle of the picture. Congrats to the OP with the new ride is still in order.

I have 125000 miles on my '07 and not once have i had it in for warranty. I was thinking about upgrading to a 2013 so i went to the dealer to check them out. The second i sat in in it i thought i was in my '07. There was absolutely no reason to hop into a 2013 for me. One good thing for you though all the aftermarket mods are already out for your new upgrades. Ill have to wait for months till stuff is ready for my 2014!

You got me worried because I need to keep my new 2013 for at least 6 years. Why didn't your 08 ride good?

Here is the new ride. I have a few more things in mind to add but it sure rides a lot nicer than the 2008 did.
Oh hell.... Drop the details please. I was tossing around a 4.5 lift and 35s. That appears to be a 6.0 lift. Am I right or is it even higher?

Looks really nice!!

Yea its a 6" ProComp lift with 35's and 20 inch wheels. The tires are Nitto Grapplers and the wheels are the fuel octane's. IMHO, if you do any lift larger than a 3", you might as well just go to 6. Especially if you are putting 35's on your truck.
