My '05 Tundra access cab Limited has 161,000 miles on it. It has developed a vibration that seems to be rather random. I can sometimes feel it at moderate speeds and sometimes when hitting the brakes, other times nothing at all when hitting the brakes. It has become pronounced and consistent when hitting speeds over 65, and at 70 it is at its worst, almost a vibrating or shaking of the wheel. Often around town and at moderate speeds it is smooth as silk. Just had it inspected, and my mechanic told me the rack and pinion is leaking. If the rack is replaced, will that possibly fix the random vibration? Should I have any other parts replaced while doing the steering rack? Should I do the polyurethane bushings at the same time? Thanks!!
