I have a '08 crewmax 5.7 4x2. I has a humming noise from seemingly the front end. It starts around 30 mph as I am slowing to a stop and will continue as I accelerate up to around 30 mph. I have read a few things on 4x4 diffs but nothing specific to 4x2. I have the heavy suspension and a 3/1 lift.

Did you put bigger tires on too?

I'd guess bad wear on the tires. Try a tire rotation see if it goes away. Cheap test.

Should have asked, how many miles? Maybe you've got a bearing going out? Does it change at all when you brake?

It's a pretty easy check for the bearings. Jack the front end up and grab the tire at 9 and 3 and try to move it back and forth. If you have play in it it's probably a bearing going out.
