2007 5.7 idles high (2000 rpm) until temp guage shows operating temperature reached. This is recent. Any ideas? Im assuming the ECU controls mixture and idle, but i'm not getting any CEL's.

Check coolant level. If there is air in the throttle body it will idle high, or a vacuum leak are the obvious ones to look for

Thanks ditchhooker. I had an ongoing coolant leak that may have contributed to this, but have just had that leak repaired. It still idles high and inconsistently, so i'll check for a vacuum leak.
