Alright guys, I am ready to remove the plasti-dip from the tailgate emblem and make it permanent with paint. What I need to know is:

1. How do I prepare the clear coat surface to receive paint?
2. Should I use a primer first?
3. I intend on using bedliner as the "paint"...should I clear coat afterwards?

Thanks in advance!!!

mask off area scuff paint with scotch pad red , spray liner, remove tape when wet to get crisp lines , let dry, re mask then clear to protect and keep shinny. i would test that the clear is compatible with the liner on a test piece first.

I dont have the link handy on my work computer, however I did see a laser cut, vinyl sticker designed to fit INSIDE of the "Tundra" stamp on the 2014 tailgate. Looked solid and no painting required. Just a thought ;)
