Apparently they want me as an extra for the upcoming Ted 2 film being shot in Boston and Ipswich, MA.

This could be interesting; I'll be getting a call next week with the details.

Doesn't pay much at $8/hour; but it's nice to take a break from work and talk to some of the SAG people on set. Just need to shift my Fridays off to another day of the week. Last girl I spoke to told me she maintained a size 0 by chain smoking and drinking Red Bull all day with only a salad to each once each day!

Unfortunately, I'm not allowed to speak to Mark Wahlberg and call him or his family a bunch of losers otherwise I'll be kicked off set. >:D

Doesn't anyone want their 15 minutes of fame? :dunno:

Guess nobody here cares to be seen in a movie.

I did it a long time ago. Took my paid vacation and did that awful Costner movie The Postman for a week or so.

I did it cause I was poor and could use the money. Not cause I wanted to be in a movie.

It all comes down to what they want me to do. I do have some dignity.

Most likely, I'll just be someone walking by in the background. If they put you in any speaking roles, they have to automatically enroll you in SAG (screen actor's guild) and pay you 2-3 times what they pay non-union actors.

The movie industry has been light here lately. Can't exactly pick and choose what movie you'd like to have a part. My younger sister was in "The Departed", but her scene got cut from the film.

That's how they get you.

You are in a background scene. Some potential witness to a triple homicide gets a moment of clarity and tells some government agency, they think they remember a man that looked a lot like extra number 2 in the fisting scene of Ted II , the night of the alleged incident.

I think it's cool, my wife and i went to Ellen's Even Bigger Really Big Comedy show in Vegas for comedy week, and we ended up on TV when it aired... Saved it on TiVo for a few years, I think it's cool...

My niece does child acting, been on a few tv shows and commercials, but she did one where she was the only thing on the screen for the entire commercial, I got a kick out of it when ever it came on TV...

Didn't think of it that way.

If there was any porno from the original movie "Ted", I think we're talking about two completely different movies.

I would do it, but being from California I would tell McFarland I need $10 per hour, no less. Then I would smoke a fat one with Ted and try to bone the chick from that 70's show, I'd do my damn best to impregnate her.

Cool, how does one get a casting agent anyway...??
I got a special deal with the agent of a SAG actress I met on the set of Mall Cop for $50/year. A lot of casting agencies assign one to you after you sign up for $75-$150/year. Some agencies are free, but you need to either submit a photo online (easy enough) to submit yourself as a background actor or go in person and wait in an hour long line for them to do a head shot.

Hardly worth it unless your willing to do commercials and drive all over the place since the SAG people have to pay around $2000/year for dues to cover I believe health insurance and other expenses (not sure of the details; it can be researched).

I just did it to avoid having to go to auditions and just have a casting agent call me after submitting a head shot and resume.

I've only gotten into two major feature films; The Invention of Lying and Mall Cop; neither of which I got into the film since my scenes were cut out and I couldn't afford to do it for a whole week; just 2-3 days at most.

I could actually make some decent cash on the side doing commercials, but my regular job pays me well enough. I just do it for fun.

I did go to an audition once when I was in Boston and it was convenient for the movie "The Town". I got called with the request for them to use my photo THEY took free of charge with no restrictions and turned them down because it could either be used for a family shot or God forbid a pedophile mug shot!
